Recycling old MacBook with a swollen battery

I need to get rid of my old MacBook Pro from 2015. It had a faulty battery due to a manufacturing fault and I had that replaced three years ago. Unfortunately it now has a swollen battery again (mind you, this has never happened with any of my MacBooks before).

I was due for a new laptop anyway so I have a new one now but I want to get rid of the swollen MacBook. Since it's not possible to send it to Apple for recycling because of the swollen battery, I'm hoping to find out how I can get rid of the thing. Not really happy having it sitting at home since technically it is a slight fire hazard. Do the Apple resellers accept laptops for recycling at their stores, even with a faulty battery?

Any place that sells stuff with a plug or battery is obliged to take waste electrical.

Or you could go to youir nearest dump and recycle it there angain for free
