Was Dunphy referring to Ken in his latest pod when he referenced a 'clown' who wrote an article saying Bazunu is statistically the worst keeper in Europe?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,495 ✭✭✭bren2001

Like his mate, I don't think Dunphy would necessarily agree with anything Ken writes about football.

Yeah, I believe he was referring to Ken.

That's a bit of a U-turn on his previous opinion of Ken. Not that that'd be unlike Eamon alright.

I think I understand the purpose of the Episode series and why they rebranded it from the players chair. Footballers or sportsmen are just not introspective or articulate enough to suit the format so they’ve expanded it to all people from all backgrounds and life origins.

I still remember how excruciating it was when Richie tried to get shay given to expand upon why his mothers death wasn’t very emotional and the family just got on with things and Richie meeting a brick wall.

the Tommy tiernan interview was good, Richie didn’t have to work too hard to make that happen.

I'm sure ken could reply with audio of Eamon calling Ronaldo a clown while he was scoring 40 goals a season, winning the champions league and european player of the year for united. But he knows Eamon is looking for a reaction, so he won't.

Still plenty of tickets for the live event. I was going to buy 3 tickets, but when €132 comes up on the checkout page, it does seem expensive for what it is.

I don't think I've ever criticized Ken for anything before, but I kinda wish he'd ease off using Twitter posts for content on the podcast. Not so much in relation to the Salah story, just in general.

Ken's response today to Eamon was very underwhelming.

I really enjoyed Murph's book. It's really well written, he's very honest and does a very good job portraying what its like being part of the GAA.

There's this diary part towards the end of the book which is brilliant.

Dunno if it's for me but the article he did about him doing goalkeeper and just about not making a complete hames of it was a laugh.

Bought tickets for the Stadium show fwiw... dunno what the other half will make of it (let's hope DoD will be a warm up act, been feeding her the 'are you going to do your tripod' lines for a good while now)

Absolutely massive venue for them and tickets were not cheap. I assume they have a pretty big guest lined up for it.

    Bought tix myself.

Still getting used to the novelty of having an evening out without kids in tow, so how bad can it be 😁

    WE WANT DODDLES

    WE WANT DODDLES

    😁

Here's the one the should have played during the week instead of Kerbdog - who weren't bad, but let's face it der-rivative.

Ray Cuddihy playing The The now on Late Date, all I can think about is Bill O'Reilly going mad.

Richie Sadlier is the ultimate grifter.

Somehow is has wangled himself onto Second Captains, he is a regular on RTEs LOI/international coverage. released s book, had a teenage sex education documentary on RTE.

This is on top of being CEO of St. Pats with zero experience in his early 30s.

You’d have to say, “fair ****”

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,032 ✭✭✭Raoul Duke

I think that you meant to say "grafter".

But then again maybe you didn't. A lot of what you wrote could be read as that he is lucky and doesn't deserve all the gigs he's got.

    I don't.

I think he is the most cynical grafter in Irish media.

    And that is saying something,

Listening to Richie Sadlier and Tommy Tiernan et al. having "conversations" would be an ordeal.

I think he's a unique voice when it comes to both football and sex education.

He approaches football in a way that is different to most ex pros. I'm happy to listen to him on second captain's 3-4 times a year.

I don't watch much post game analysis on any channel because listening to ex pros is painful.

I like his sex ed stuff. There's not enough men who speak about these things and he's got the experience of being in the Millwall dressing room. If you've got teenagers in your family, male it female then i recommend the book.

I hated the players chair. I find most sports people ridiculously dull even if they have had something unusual or traumatic happen to them.

Most pundits on TV are there because they had great careers and are not necessarily good pundits.

Sadlier is there because he is actually a good pundit and speaks very well and not because of hi career as a player.

Give me Richie over Lampard, Scholes etc any day for analysis

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,838 ✭✭✭Did you smash it

Speaks well…yes but doesn’t say anything of substance about the actual flow of a game. Looks good in a suit as well. he’s carved a niche for himself and it works for him. Would prefer if his use of SC was only for wider sporting/human condition issues or this new Episode series

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,802 ✭✭✭✭siblers

He's number one in the Podcast charts which I didn't expect. Whether it'll stay that popular is another thing.

I'll probably listen if he has a particularly interesting guest on, I've had my fill of Tommy Tiernan by this stage so no interest in listening to that episode

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,145 ✭✭✭✭Arghus

Murph mentioned sleeping for ten hours a night.

Fair play if that's the case.

Ken quoting dril about the Gordon Ramsay story was funny.
