Playing bad and still in it.

We are a point behind playing shite. That's consoling.

Don’t think I can hack another 40 minutes.

Such a strange topsy turvy half, I'm a wreck after that and it's only half time.

Got the try, but I'd be happy to not get to the end of the game regretting not taking all these free points. 3 pointers add up very quickly.

I thought we were gone after 15 minutes but no fooking way!!!

Big time. Can’t give a team a 13 point head start but no matter what happens really impressed by the how we had responded. Game on.

    I'm not able for this

NZ will tire as the game goes on.

    Unreal.

    They keep surprising me.

Same mistakes as every QF, but they've the balls to stay in it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,427 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

Must be an enthralling QF for all neutrals watching btw....a high scoring end to end game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 41,907 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

After the opening ten minutes I’d have taken the hand off to be only a point behind at half time.

gREAT FIRST HALF, After a poor start.

A.B seem to have gears though, and can up a gear at will

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,007 ✭✭✭TheRona

Fantastic first half. NZ asking plenty of questions of Ireland, and so far they have the answers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,919 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Before the try, Barnes calls ‘once’ and the fûcking maul was still actively moving.

Parks try and another Irish player taken off the ball..just behind him by a very offside and very deliberate act. Would have warranted a card.

    Barnes ffs.

NZ are rattled. If Barnes and the other 3 can get their act together we have a great chance.

At 13-0 down it looked like this could turn into a nightmare. Ireland have outscored them 17-5 since!! It's on.

We are not playing shite. Give over. Shown serious resiliency when up against it to fight back and get within 1..through some very good play.

Can we sort defence, breakdown, lineout at half time?

Edit: And get rid of nerves and inhibition.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,755 ✭✭✭lbunnae

Defo think we are winning this tbh , NZ will be very disappointed with that 1 PT lead

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,613 ✭✭✭SaoPaulo41

When we have the ball and go through phases we are much better than NZ, however they can score from individual brilliance which makes them dangerous, if we can sort out line out and give more protection at breakdown I'm confident.

What a game. Have a feeling McKenzie is gonna have a say in this game whether good or bad. Barnes in fairness is alright. We haven't controlled the ruck and NZ are creating a mess of it. No real bad performances bar the lineout as a whole

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,376 ✭✭✭golfball37

Yes the last time Wayne Barnes reffed them in a French World Cup quarterfinal!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,045 ✭✭✭cheese sandwich

Dunno about that, they’ve had an easy few matches whereas we looked wrecked in the second half of the Scotland game

No but we've made tons of errors. The good with the very bad. Getting turned over, poor defence, lineouts. Shite enough for anyone who follows this team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,412 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Could of been a lot worse (and feared for it)

We need the strongest of starts in the 2nd half
