Does know read through the threads anymore ? People want to be spoon fed. The information is there , and has been for the past few weeks. Have a read over the past couple of pages and you will find all the information about how to order, delivery times, products reviews !

Is this meant for me? I see its 150 odd pages so I didn't read it. I only asked a question.

The weather certainly has not been conducive to wanting to light a fire for those of us who have taken coal deliveries recently.

Looking at this this weeks forecast I think that is about to change pretty quickly.

@People who've had pallets delivered from Greers, will the courier bring the pallet up the driveway to the front door, or do they leave it out on the street/footpath. I've a fairly wide set of gates a truck could reverse into, but a lorry definitely couldn't.

If you have a sealed/hard driveway, it shouldn't really matter as they should have a pallet trolley/truck to move the load about from the street up your drive.

Hey, thanks for all the information shared. I have gone back through the last 40 odd pages and found some very helpful info. Iv narrowed down my search to a pallet of Hayes Superlite. Mainly because this is the only coal I can get a sample of locally (Cork) which people have recommended here.

Price from the dandys delivered to cork €585

Price from Hayes direct delivered to cork €580 (£400/€464 for coal & delivery €116)

I would have to organize delivery myself if I ordered with hayes so will more than likely go with the dandys. The cheapest I can seem to get a pallet delivered is €95 + vat so €116. I would have assumed I would have gotten this cheaper. I have tried K&L, The pallet network, prompto any other recommendations appreciated. Thanks

The freight charge looks high but I've noticed freight companies putting things like fuel surcharges and charges for residential address on invoices lately. I have previously used Liam Connolly road Freight, Joe Mc Govern Transport, Ace Express and Ward Group when getting coal to Cork from Coal Warehouse in County Tyrone. It might be worth your while trying some of these co's.

Hey Regards Glo-Therem, does anyone know where I could get a bag in cork?? I tried Glanmire fencing, but they don't sell it anymore. Lisavaird is a two hour return drive so don't really want to go there for a bag. On a separate note I have tried a few more courier companies for a price for delivery to cork, will update if I can get a better price. Thanks.

Any deals on coal in smaller quantities? Not looking to spend €500+. I used to burn Stafford’s superior coal so something equivalent.

Only way to do it is to pay for delivery. You pay for a pallet load up to one ton in weight so it might still work out cheaper for you to by half a ton from the north and have it delivered. Other option is to share a load if you know others that might want to buy half a load or so.

Wake me up when it's all over.

you can buy 24 x 20kg bags of ovoids for 250 plus delivery.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,828 ✭✭✭wassie

    I posted this last week.

The Dandys do a half tonne delivery for €45 anywhere in ROI which can be reasonable value.

    I nearly purchased 1/2 tonne of Hayes Columbian with them for €325 + €45 = €370.

What's the story with easy glow? I have rang them nearly everyday for a fortnight and have only got the answer machine. Left message ..no call back. Tried the online message function.no luck!

I know I can order online but I want to speak to somone to to try and organise day for delivery so someone is here to recieve it..

Think I'll scroll back through thread and contact one of the other recommended retailers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,229 ✭✭✭✭OmegaGene

they don't arrange a delivery day with you they sell the coal and pass the collection onto a courier who then does the delivery

The last lot of smokeless coal I got locally didn't give much heat from it (I cant remember the brand tbh). Does anyone out there recommend hi-heat smokeless coal for open fires?

I don't want to risk using smokey coal even though the boss it adamant that the one for heat

I am gonna buy a ton from the one of places recommended here
