    Unfortunately more than likely.

What is the long-term end game one wonders?

I'd imagine Israel would be prepared to cede back lands in trade for peace and security. A substantial amount of Palestinians don't appear to have any interest in this and just want to eradicate the Israelis.

Until the mindset of the Palestinians change there will be no peace in the region and the cycle of violence will continue.

Keep going your only one step away from the other guy who said it was actually the Israelis who did the killing.

Them Jews always bring it on themselves.

Posters keep forgetting that Gaza also has a border with Egypt. It is not landlocked by Israel.

Except the terrorist organisation is the government in this situation. Hamas are not all Palestinians, but they have significant support, 45% in 2006.

It doesn't matter if HAMAS are the current government or not. They are NOT "The Palestinians" as a whole. The same Fine Gael isn't "The Irish".

I keep hearing the Israeli goal is to eliminate Hamas or at least make it so Hamas are incapable of doing what they did on Saturday ever again. But not much talk of who takes the place of Hamas? They don’t hold elections in the West Bank anymore for fear Hamas would be voted in. Anything more moderate than Hamas will not be popular in Gaza after it’s basically destroyed by a nation they hate anyway. What is the end goal? As much as I don’t want it to be the case, I can only see total destruction of Palestine and possible relocation of the remaining population being the Israeli answer.

The last election was 17 years ago but you claim they still have significant support.

Of course it matters, you go to war with governments. If Fine Gael went over to London and killed a load of babies, Ireland would be at war. Unless we rose up and eliminated Fine Gael, which we would do…..unless a lot of us were really happy with what they just did.

Why the distinction between the IRA and "the Irish"? IRA are Irish, and are supported by a certain percentage of the population, including those living abroad who could speak out, but don't.

    Taken from 1985.

Amnesty International’s new investigation shows that Israel imposes a system of oppression and domination against Palestinians across all areas under its control: in Israel and the OPT, and against Palestinian refugees, in order to benefit Jewish Israelis. This amounts to apartheid as prohibited in international law.

Yes, the Egypt-Gaza border. There is nothing to stop supplies of humanitarian aid being brought in through this border, other than that the Egyptians have closed this border, presumably because they don't want Palestinians crossing into Egypt. If Israel is to be criticised for blockading Gaza, then so should Egypt.

That's your opinion and of course in this instance that opinion is totally wrong, again.

Amnesty International’s new investigation shows that Israel imposes a system of oppression and domination against Palestinians across all areas under its control: in Israel and the OPT, and against Palestinian refugees, in order to benefit Jewish Israelis. This amounts to apartheid as prohibited in international law.

Did you? Again the language is vague. You speak of the "barbaric Hamas attack" but that is not necessarily the same thing. What is meant by it?

In your posts you never accepted the executions of children, and unarmed civilians, the murders, the rapes as an act that occurred. You continually questioned the basis for the claims and when provided with eye witness testimony via a reputable media outlet of the rapes continued to engage in "just asking questions." You always speak of condemning it but without acceptance of it as a fact.

I said nothing incorrect. I originated no claim. I refuted false claims made about the Israeli defence ministers statements with reference to media articles. I cited the Huffington Post article from 2 days ago and reposted its contents here to refute a false claim.

    That's the fucking point.

HAMAS may be the current government, but they are NOT "The Palestinans" as a whole. That's why the distinction between a terrorist organisation like HAMAS and "The Palestinians" is important.

If you don't understand this, it's because you don't want to.

So to take things back to Current Events, things seem to be kicking off in Northern Israel.

A massive bombardment is underway from Hezbollah using drones and rockets. There are reports that some are invading Israel on paragliders.

Also, in the past hour, the gruesome story about the children who were beheaded has been confirmed by the PM's office as well as first responders who were at the scene.

Another US carrier group is on the way to the Eastern Med.

The whole region is on the verge of blowing up.

This to me is the biggest issue. At least in Ireland, the vast majority of Irish people recognized the IRA for the murdering scumbags that they were but you have a group like Hamas who have deliberately murdered babies getting that kind of support, it makes you wonder.

The likes of Paul Murphy and his fellow useful idiots should have a little think about where the problems in that region are originating from.

There has been a lot of nonsense spouted about war crimes.

There is one thing for certain - the indiscriminate murder of babies and children by Hamas when there was no military objective - is most definitely a war crime, one of the worst war crimes.

There hasn't been an election in Palestine for decades

This amounts to apartheid as prohibited in international law.

Yes that one, the one that hamas have shown have multiple tunnels running between the two countries

Normally used for smuggling, but if hamas actually wanted to save lives instead of making more martyrs they would let them use it

    But martyrs are good propaganda

He's certainly treating all the Palestinians in Gaza like animals. I judge people by what they do.

There hasn’t, the percentage of support might be higher now. Have you reason to think it’s lower?

    What were his precise words?

As far as I can see Yoav Gallant announced a complete siege of Gaza. "There will be no electricity, no food, no fuel, no water, everything is closed."

    https://twitter.com/ME_Observer_/status/1711371211857334439

Then he immediately followed these words by saying "We are fighting human animals". That he said these words immediately after announcing a siege which affects the whole population - a collective punishment - leaves the listener to assume he meant the whole population when he said "human animals".

He didn't make clear precisely who the term "human animals" referred to and who it didn't refer to. To me this seems like a rhetorical trick so that plausible deniability can be claimed - that the term "human animals" doesn't refer to the general population of Gaza, when in reality it's a dog whistle which does indeed infer that the general population of Gaza are "human animals".

If you're going to use the term "human animals", every single time you say it, you had better make crystal clear you're NOT referring to civilians. He did not do so and everything else about his words infers he did mean the whole population.

That's genocidal language and it's meant to be.

Nikki Haley also used rhetorical sleight of hand when she said "Finish them." She didn't make precisely clear who "them" referred to. Again a dog whistle that leaves room for plausible deniability she didn't mean the whole population of Gaza when it's bleedin' obvious the whole population is exactly what she means.

    That's genocidal language too.

We'll never know without an election.

Reports from the IDF of Hezbollah drones attacking from the North now.

This amounts to apartheid as prohibited in international law.

    ultimately no .

israel want all of that land and possibly more.

nothing the palestinians would do would change that and israel will continue to do what it does regardless, because america back them no matter what.

as it was israel who started the whole conflict in the first place, it is actually on them to conceed, seeing as the palestinians doing so would make no difference anyway.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.
