Predictable. Another glib response. Anything to avoid engaging with and condemning as an act the brutal slaughter of Israeli civilians including children and babies.

What do you want Hamas to have brought along a BBC journalist to have filmed it?

An Israeli soldier? She wasn't there as a soldier, she was there attending the festival as a civilian. But of course, you will just now ignore the witnesses because they might served in the military. And the victims can't speak because they are dead or hostages.

The gruesome videos on social media have been taken down. They cannot be shared on this forum. So maybe, you should go and look for them yourself in the dregs of the internet. You seem very concerned about it. Instead of "just asking questions" here you know either cannot be answered or you won't accept the answer.

Every excuse, every tactic deployed to avoid condemning the brutal attacks on Israeli civilians as an act. You won't accept the evidence.

And once again, you posts focus in on trying to discredit the attacks while you ignore what else was said and described in the report about the brutal attacks.

The dashcam footage may be silent, but speaks loudly of horror, a Hamas gunman taking a hostage, another ensuring a victim was dead, the awful aftermath of what had been an all-night party that became a nightmare for thousands, including Raz Cohen.

Perhaps you can read this post also, are they lying?

Indirectly they have. I've seen several posts insinuating most or almost all of what is claimed about the attacks are false, and refusing to accept as a fact that Hamas did any 'bad things' such as executing unarmed civilians and children. I've seen vague phrasings about oh "X are bad" without acknowledging Hamas actually did X. It amounts to the same thing. I've seen same tactics before.

I wouldn't go looking for any gruesome videos tbh. Iv'e learnt my lesson that morbid curiosity can have real world effects on ones own wellbeing. I watched an ISIS video back in 2015 i won't share the details but not to dissimilar from some of the descriptions of Hamas these last few days and it effected me terribly for days/weeks afterwards. The images are still burned into my head and they'll never leave. Even the descriptions here of what is happening and that includes the murder of innocent Palestinian/Israeli children is hard enough so i'll never watch any of that stuff again and i'd advice others to do likewise.

Look after your own mental health folks. It can be more delicate than you can imagine.

Amnesty International’s new investigation shows that Israel imposes a system of oppression and domination against Palestinians across all areas under its control: in Israel and the OPT, and against Palestinian refugees, in order to benefit Jewish Israelis. This amounts to apartheid as prohibited in international law.

We don't know the nature of that intelligence.

It's entirely possible that the sheer scale of the attack was unknown or not predicted, and that perhaps it was believed Hamas would simply conduct a standard rocket attack; the kind of which they've been doing for the past number of years.

We'll find out in due course, I suspect, what the nature of that intelligence was.

You seem confused. Who say she wasn’t there as a soldier. Who are you speaking about?

No-one had out and out said they support Hamas, I’ll give you that.

But what people are doing is trying to downplay what’s happening, make out that’s all lies made up by the IDF and suggest that the Israelis deserve it/ have driven Hamas to it.

By doing these things they are indirectly showing support for Hamas.

Lebanon and Israel now sending rockets back and forth..

Rafah crossing in Sinai Egypt has been bombed by Israel to stop Palestinians fleeing.

This is where things could get really messy if several middle eastern countries begin to get involved..

I think we can say that their intelligence network failed

There was so many Hamas fighters involved in this

Difference is one deliberately targets children and murders them with their mothers and the other is targeting the people who orchestrated this attack.

Also the Israeli response now would not be happening only for the Hamas massacre.

They were never coming back their brutal deaths will be used as propaganda to inflict maximum pain in the Jews and maximum joy for the Palestinians.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,673 ✭✭✭AudreyHepburn

Agreed. It’s entirely possible, even likely, that they were in the same position as the FBI and CIA before 9/11 where they had lots of different puzzle pieces and could see parts of the story but just couldn’t quite fit them all together to get the full picture.

You could look at it the opposite way, though.

That a headline as shocking as that will justify Israeli retaliation in a lot of people’s minds, actions that will have a lot of innocent death in Gaza and that will not ensure that those who committed the atrocities are brought to justice, or ensure another attack cannot happen.

And why did the Hamas massacre happen?

Israel will make orphans of many kids over the next few weeks, then like yourself will turn around in a few years scratching your heads wondering why those kids commits acts like last weekend.

    Who said they were?

So go back and read your own posts if you are confused, as it seems an accurate description of the sowing of confusion your posts cause.

This is an interview with a survivor of the attack with PBS News Hour.

Raz Cohen, Survivor of Music Festival Attack:

At 6:00 a.m., we start to hear all the rockets. So, we started to hear the gunshots and a lot of people screaming. We go to hide under the stage, the main stage of the festival.... We go to hide in a bush, a big bush in the creek. And we was in the bush something like six or seven hours. A lot of terrorists go around us and search for people to kill. The terrorists, people from Gaza, raped girls. And after they raped them, they killed them, murdered them with knives, or the opposite, killed — and after they raped, they — they did that.

This link was in my original post so reposting here as it discredits your entire line of posting.

The Israelis say they're targetting Hamas

Considering the recent intelligence failure how likely is that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,673 ✭✭✭AudreyHepburn

You could certainly but I think that’s overly cynical way to look at it and a bit of a cop out to be honest.

We have I think been far too conditioned to see this conflict in black and white - Big Bad Israel and Poor Innocent Little Palestine but it’s really not that clear cut.

Hamas and Israel have negotiated prisoner exchanges in the past so not unheard of.

I have not watched any videos either but as you say the stories alone have tramuatisd me .

Gladly I have not heard any stories of Palestinian children been beheaded, burned alive, kidnapped from their parents and taunted in cages.

You might say having your apartment fall in top of you killing you is no different but I disagree completely.

What those children suffered in their last moments or continue to suffer now imprisoned is not the same in my opinion.

Iv'e honestly no idea how you came to that conclusion. Facts are important. Looking for facts on any given event isn't tacit support for anything or anyone.

It is when the facts are only sought from one side, or it is used to obscure or shift the focus away from what is known to have occurred. It is muddying the waters and attempts to discredit the idea that anything we know about the events are true.

Can't see the wood from the trees springs to mind.

Once again the children in cages story in not accurate. That happened in Syria. Facts are important.

    You said;

“An Israeli soldier? She wasn't there as a soldier, she was there attending the festival as a civilian.”

Who are you referring to here?

Yes the Israelis should really go door to door try to find the Hamas fighters, I'm sure they'd get loads of help from the regular Palestinian people.

Or they should probably do what you want them to do just forget about what happened, they brought it on themselves, leave the middle east and apologies to the Palestinian people for the pain they've caused for the last 70 years.

    Would you agree?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,564 ✭✭✭✭odyssey06

You said an Israeli soldier and an Israeli official?

Who were you referring to here?

Is there any tactic or semantic maze you won't resort to to avoid engaging with the evidence of the HAMAS slaughter and rape of civilians?

Here it is again. All the information you were looking for is here.

What will your next deflection be to avoid engaging with the evidence?

Anything but accept that HAMAS slaughtered civilians, children, babies and raped victims? And condemn those acts as events that occurred?

Would have made no difference, only difference is you would have had a proper Palestinian state attacking Israel with rockets.

The sooner people realise the Palestinian people and most of the Arab world will never accept a Jewish state in the middle east the sooner you can accept this never ending circle of violence.

And what should Palestine do in response to the 1000s of innocents who will be killed by Israel over the next few weeks?

    Nothing?
