Exactly, they peddle and broadcast depraved liberalist ideals all around the world but could not be more backwards in their prized expansionist hellhole:

This is such a dire situation and if both sides aren't talked back we're going to see the death toll quickly race towards that ofjthe Ukrainian war. Gaza is one of the most densely populated places on earth.

Oh I totally agree that Israel have been violating human rights in Gaza for a long time. And the international community have turned a blind eye to it because it's Israel. I don't know why people are shocked when Hamas fight back.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

just caught on SkyNews a lady from the Norwegian Refugee council say Egyptian authorities (fellow Muslims) are charging exorbitant fees to Palestinians wishing to flee the Israeli operation.

Oh boy! just when you thought things couldn't get much worse, your so called friends take advantage of your plight.

The point is, that terms as such mean nothing when you only apply them to groups you don't like. Fascists doesn't seem to mean anything but "the side that I don't like".

A man may know that nobody has insulted him, but that he has invented the insult for himself, has lied and exaggerated to make it picturesque, has caught at a word and made a mountain out of a molehill--he knows that himself, yet he will be the first to take offense, and will revel in his resentment till he feels great pleasure in it.”- ― Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov

I think you’re exaggerating there, Israel has long borders with Jordan and Egypt both of which do not want it exterminated,

You were just talking about electing fascists, and you can't even see the ridiculousness of that.

Just seen footage of a missile attack on a refugee camp in Gaza must be over 50 dead people blown to pieces kids included.

    The Israeli army are scum.

Amnesty International’s new investigation shows that Israel imposes a system of oppression and domination against Palestinians across all areas under its control: in Israel and the OPT, and against Palestinian refugees, in order to benefit Jewish Israelis. This amounts to apartheid as prohibited in international law.

i would love to see Conan try that in Iran, Syria or even Egypt.

Historic Palestine? There is also historic Israel occupying the same area?

A two-state solution is the answer. An end to objectives of groups like Hamas who just want extermination.

They have a legal right to armed struggle. This is the law.

You havent once called out Israeli terror against the Palestinians which has been ongoing for decades now.

Correct. Israel's primary adversary is no longer its historical Arab foes, but rather its relatively new Persian enemy, Iran.

So, as a general observation and a bit of a digression from the actual conflict itself but I've been using Google maps today to look at the geography of the area around the Gaza strip where the conflict is taking place.

Understandably enough, I imagine for security reasons, there are very few photos and certainly no Google camera car footage anywhere near the vicinity of the Gaza partition area. However what is equally notable in this age of omnipresent mobile phones and how, over the past 48 hours Hamas have been so quick to parade images and video over social media, is the huge dearth of photos of streets and landscapes within Gaza. And what limited images there are are predominantly personal images or those posted by small commercial entreprises in an effort to promote their business and advertise their product. What it does also sadly indicate however is a desolate, poverty stricken, decrepit place a bit akin to the most desolate type of unofficial halting site you might find in this country. Of course there are a whole myriad of reasons why this might be. Obviously the economic embargo and blockade by Israel and the largely indifference of the Egyptians doesn't help. I recall from my time in the region 25 years ago that the philisophy of many in Gaza is one of transient mourning for a lost homeland and in spite of this having been their lot since 1948, they regard it as a temporary arrangement and therefore haven't engaged in the enthuastic nation building and development that other states might have. Equally I recall my dissappointment in driving around the West bank and arriving into one of the worlds oldest cities, Jerico and being taken aback at what a absolute dump it was only the most basic of infrastructure and very few buildings of note or prestiege (bar one bearing a huge banner of Yasser Arafat). Of course as others here have rightly pointed out, it is in Hamas's interest and also in the interest of other Arab sponsor states to maintain Gaza and Palestine in general in this impoverished state, in order to ferment dissent and facilitate unrest. It's far too easy for these rich Arab states, hosting the power brokers and financiers and leaders of Hamas and other Islamic extremeists to maintain an arms length remove from the plight of the unfortunate citizens of Palestine and engage in military support rather than funding any humanitarian or infrastructural investment. Instead this function is left up to the likes of the EU and the world bank.

And again, no more than, what will happen in the coming days, who bears the brunt of this indifference and lack of compassion, but the average innocent resident of Gaza.

I recall from the extent of my travels in Muslim countries is that one of the tenets of Islam is charity and supporting those less fortunate than oneself. Isn't there, aside from the inarguable actions of the Israeli state and the IDF, therefore some gross hyprocracy in the ongoing and consistent failure of hugely wealthy, oil rich Arab states and leaders, to support their less fortunate Islamic brethern other than through military assistance.

Egypt hates Hamas, nearly as much as Israel does. We should never think of Egypt and Palestine as allies.

They see them as allied to the Muslim Brotherhood.
