I think the global calendar is a good idea, am just not sure the tournament proposed is especially inclusive towards growth. Though IIRC it's still an idea in gestation, or actually happening? I can't remember.

So: 15 minutes to Wales and Georgia. Will the Welsh get revenge for 2022, or do we think Georgia still have enough momentum to make it 2 from 2? I've no idea what way this will swing.

I’ll hazard a guess here chief…Rugby union is the #1 sport in less than a handful of countries in the world (NZ, Wales…anywhere else?), soccer is the #1 sport in probably most of the countries in the world. That might give you a clue as to why Ireland compete at the highest level in one and not the other.

While in any sport you have about 5 or 6 teams can win it the problem is most tier 2 teams can't even compete with top sides. In Rugby you don't see results like Saudi Arabia beating Argentina. Tunisia beating France. Cameroon beating Brazil etc. It's hard to get excited for games where there's virtually no chance of an upset.
