Suicide mission by HAMAS. Pure idiotic. A lot of exciteable young fellas going around with their camera phones. I doubt they fully comprehend the consequences of what will happen to them now.

The case for Israel not existing is strong.

All the end of Mandate Palestine and the forced establishment of the state of Israel was a disastrous international policy decision which replaced one sort of genocide (the Shoah) with another (the Nakba)

It has reverberated through history since and today is just the latest chapter.

Israel Inc has succeeded in achieving a political coup in the IHRA (non legally binding working definition) of antisemitism, much of which needs major scrutiny, inter alia

    • Calling for, aiding, or justifying the killing or harming of Jews in the name of a radical ideology or an extremist view of religion.

    Fine

    • Making mendacious, dehumanizing, demonizing, or stereotypical allegations about Jews as such or the power of Jews as collective — such as, especially but not exclusively, the myth about a world Jewish conspiracy or of Jews controlling the media, economy, government or other societal institutions.

    Fine

    • Accusing Jews as a people of being responsible for real or imagined wrongdoing committed by a single Jewish person or group, or even for acts committed by non-Jews.

    Fine

    • Denying the fact, scope, mechanisms (e.g. gas chambers) or intentionality of the genocide of the Jewish people at the hands of National Socialist Germany and its supporters and accomplices during World War II (the Holocaust).

    Fine

    • Accusing the Jews as a people, or Israel as a state, of inventing or exaggerating the Holocaust.

    Fine

    • Accusing Jewish citizens of being more loyal to Israel, or to the alleged priorities of Jews worldwide, than to the interests of their own nations.

Not fine, this is most certainly a thing, especially among orthodox communities who attempt to live outside both the law and social norms of the nations in which they live. Something which would be unacceptable in Israel itself.

    • Denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination, e.g., by claiming that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavour.

The existence of Israel may or may not be a racist endeavour, but its certainly an act of ethnic cleansing and genocide, at a level other nations have been bombed to hell for, eg FYR Serbia

    • Applying double standards by requiring of it (Israel) a behaviour not expected or demanded of any other democratic nation.

Bullsh1t, this has been long term Isreali state policy to silence debate of its acts against Arab and Palestinian civilians, among other things.

    • Using the symbols and images associated with classic antisemitism (e.g., claims of Jews killing Jesus or blood libel) to characterize Israel or Israelis.

    Fine

    • Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.

If the cap fits.....Israel has engaged in State sponsored forced ghettoisation and impoverishment of Arab and Palestinian civilians. If the State of Israel wishes to end comparisons between its policies and those of the Nazis, they should stop pursuing policies which mirror aspects of those of the Nazis. Simple enough.

    • Holding Jews collectively responsible for actions of the state of Israel.

    Fine.

Very well put together and much more eloquently than I could.

These are our rules - your anti-semetic if you disagree is the long and short of it.

No , it’s down to the continual land grab of Palestinian land to make way for Russians and New Yorkers

This wont end well for hamas or the palestiniens, the response from Israel will be overwhelming.

Going by the videos on Twitter showing the treatment of young Israeli soldiers the response to this will be staggering

God help the innocent civilians who the terrorists will hide behind in the next few days

Hamas are openly and proudly anti-Semitic. Would you at least agree with that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,043 ✭✭✭Glenomra

Won't end well for anyone, even for people far removed from Israel. Will probably provoke more terrorist attacks in western cities etc. The impact of drones and their potential for attacks hasn't been imo fully examined. Imagine the impact a single drone laden with explosives on a European sporting event would have. Would probably mark the end of the great sporting occasions that entertain us all. Another dismal day in what is becoming a more dismal world.

Hamas are the legitimate majority party in the PA parliament, voted in a free and fair election . The Palestinian people knew what they were voting for and it wasn't for peace marches.

It's Muslims voting for a Muslim party so I'm not sure what other outcome was expected

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,933 ✭✭✭tesla_newbie

Of course and Hamas know this well , however unless a tactical nuclear strike on the Palestinian Territories is used ( obviously it won’t ) , this kind of occasional uprising can not be eliminated

I prefer Jews to Muslims ( in general) and I’ve met Israelis on my travels and had them in our B+B , I found them fine but the root of the conflict remains the same , land theft

I have seen multiple videos now of disabled tanks and their crew being dragged out. Some are the same ones from different angles but others are different tanks entirely. Several are burning but they've seized at least one intact.

They seem to have done a right job on the IDF, caught them sleeping. Extraordinary stuff.

    Absolutely agreed.

im not agreeing at all with their actions and like others have said it won’t achieve anything only further hardship for the normal palastinian people.

The other Muslim party, the one that didn't have "kill all Jews " in it's program for government 🤣

Sorry. I’m sick to death of Irish people spouting about which they know nothing.

Do you think Ukraine has done the same by fighting back against the Russian aggression? Are Ukraine responsible?

Disgusting images on line and the usual suspects on here defending the indefensible. Hopefully the terrorists Hamas and their supporters will be wiped out.

I feel the Saudi response here is interesting. They were on the verge of signing agreements with Israel.

To my mind, we're seeing two lots of 'bad guys' : a right wing authoritarian state in Israel which has committed numerous atrocities against the Palestinian people and a terrorist movement in Hamas capable of horrible attacks. It's impossible to like either of them and, as you say, innocent civilians will pay the price.

The Iranian regime is probably having a party to celebrate their investment not going to waste.

Ha it is Palestine's existence that is in question here. The Palestinians have no settlements in Israeli land and are not stealing bits on a regular basis and populating them with their own. Is it ok for my next door neighbour to steal half my garden and build his shed on it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,249 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

    World has gone mad…

“ Russia calls for restraint and immediate ceasefire “

would you ever get to fckkk Russia.

how long will it be before Politicians and NGOs here will start chanting for Palestinian citizens to be facilitated with ‘ temporary protection’ 😵‍💫

Of course Palestinians are victims. Do the heinous acts the Provos committed mean that Catholics in Northern Ireland weren't victims of systematic state oppression?

Hamas military command and Gaza are going to get hammered. But, its definitely a complete psychological victory for the militants. The once feared IDF has been caught napping. Lot of questions will be asked. Not quite a Tet offensive moment yet. But it would make you think.

Pity that the civilians on all sides pay the prices while the as#holes on each side probably get away with it.
