Their entire defensive line is a disconnected mess half the time.

Nah, sure isn't the trip to Rome great and sure all the teams could do with the extra "rest" week playing the B team against Italy.

    Recovery from what? Embarrassment?

Na Romania are far worse but I'd agree evidence suggests little between them and Georgia. Probably Portugal too

They do. But SA have a great record. Remember the semi 95 in the rain. Can't remember any other game between them in a WC.

Because it's the world Cup? Of course the players are going to play.

Italy, unlike us in 2007, started well against the minnows in their group.

No 4 pt wins over Georgia.

Was a clawing of the face there on an Italian in the build up there.

Fair play to Italy, they could have thrown the towel in

She's very good but we shouldn't go overboard.

My only issue with female commentators is not with them but the TV channels. We have plenty of women co-commentating on Men's Rugby and they are all very good or even excellent but you never hear a male co-commentator on Women's rugby. 😁

That's on the chest, surely. Nothing wrong with that. What about the clawing of the 6 whites face?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,509 ✭✭✭✭Hurrache

Doesn't look like there's anything in that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,811 ✭✭✭✭Larbre34

    Perfectly good tackle for me.

Not sure what more the Italian player could have done.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,280 ✭✭✭testtech05

I dunno I think the crowd and the players complaining brought a lot of the attention there.

Never a yellow for me tbh luku on one knee and chest first....

    I don't think that's foul play?

French player was bent low and the Italian took him under the chin and was bent low too.

That's a load of bollix. There was nothing wrong with that clear out. Plus, they went back about 3 phases before the try as well.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,389 ✭✭✭clsmooth

Nothing there. French scrum half was dropping. French crowd put huge pressure of referee.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 9,915 ✭✭✭blackwhite

Had the french 9 not initially tackled the Italian ball carrier around the neck?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,079 ✭✭✭irelandrover

French 9 falls forward into that. And then fell like he'd been shot. And he gets the try ruled out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,280 ✭✭✭testtech05

That's definitely the most replays of any incident of the world cup so far

No evidence what so ever to suggest head contact

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,613 ✭✭✭SaoPaulo41

    Awful Garbisi

What in the hell has happened Italy? They were never this bad, they have good players in that squad, but they were rarely this disorganised and incapable. I naively hoped NZ was aberration but this is shocking from the Italians. They've given up, I've never seen rugby players play with this little physicality.

Heads should roll after this, no way should this get ignored back at HQ in Rome.

They haven't been this terrible in donkeys. They look like they've taken a massive step backwards and refuse to believe there's not something behind this sad capitulation.

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 9,396 ✭✭✭fitz

Think the 9 absolutely bought that. Think he felt contact on the chest and threw his head back. And do we not care about him clawing a player's face any more?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,139 ✭✭✭✭thebaz

**** sake , do the crowd just want slaughters or competive rugby - pathetic, weak refeeeing - Im done

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,248 ✭✭✭lawrencesummers

    Thats a terrible call.

    chest first and then head???

Look at 50% of tackles and the same thing happens.

By christ the Italians make work for themselves.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,625 ✭✭✭Pete_Cavan

Ridiculous decision, no or minimal head contact. You'd find similar in half the rucks in a game if you were looking.

Fair play to Garbisi for distracting from an awful referee decision with an even more awful kick.
