I am in a new build home
I have SIRO Fibre broadband installed downstairs
I have data points upstairs that came with the new build. See pic attached

Two questions:

Do I get an electrician to fit these as a network port?
Do I simply run an rj45 from the port to my device to get internet? aka I don't have to mess with routers downstairs

You can easily fit one of these yourself. If the other end of the cable comes out by your broadband router you just use a patch cable to connect from the port to the router and the upstairs port to your device.

I would just put in a wireless mesh and not bother with the wired points. If you have a concrete floor and it is killing the signal to upstairs you could terminate one of the upstairs points in to the router. You would need a patch tool to connect the RJ45 plug/sockets.
