    Probably because if it is a mistake, and when the twitter crowd inevitably gets the name of the girl handing out the medals, they probably don't want to be on the hook for whatever the fallout will be.


    Also, i'd imagine that someone in RTE have already been speaking to Gymnastics Ireland and probably have a much better idea of what happened than we do.

    At the moment it is the US and UK media and the tabloids like the mirror and daily mail that are going hell for leather on this.
