Biden has so much racism attached to his long career that the media could make him look like a literal Klan man if they wanted , but they won't. All the culture wars and toxic anomisosity in society today is because of left wing media.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86,725 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

The media already did, and that ship sailed. As if the Robert Byrd talking point was just invented yesterday, and not recycled in every election and re-election he's had as a Senator, Vice President and President since oh... when was google started again?

Red Wave November TM insanity. Even among the right, the accusations on their face aren't scintillating enough, and they constantly oversold them (toxic animosity from the right). Just an indication of how little the electorate believed that the President of Charlottesville and Lafayette Square deserved a second term over a catholic who forgave a man who disavowed the klan and sought forgiveness and responsibility for his prior relationship to the klan.

Toxic animosity is something which can occur when you can't admit fault or accept responsibility or seek forgiveness. That's not coming from the left or the blackface canadian.

And yet you ignore your own hypocrisy by defending a rapist while condemning sexual immorality. It's hypocrisy squared with you.

No one has said that this is a syllabus for four year olds, that has been proven to you when you originally quoted the tweet, same as the rest of your so called arguments since then when caught out again falling for and repeating búllshit.

As for nasty borderline evil reasoning Marcus Rashford and the RNLI want a word with you.

I don't personally use twitter or whatever it is called this week but how a user can stumble across that original non factual tweet is concerning but what is more concerning is after that not taking even 1 minute to fact check it in any way.

The first thought was lets dump it on a non related thread on another website and spend the next few hours trying to defend it.

Such a sad life for a poster on another thread bragging about going on a 15K holiday and complains about culture wars on other threads.

So you only care about sexual abuse etc if it comes from the left but not the right

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

So, he sees US culture war divisiveness as negative .... despite supporting Trump, the architect of much of the divisiveness .... then can't understand why people would want it here .... but posts blatantly divisive and lying posts from Twitter here .... and then defends them...??

Jesus, that's hypocrisy on a new level.

I think this is what we call you losing all moral credibility... You've wanted to discuss politics of a politician and putting their rape to the side as they're not "electing the next pope". But a parent wanting to explain to their child that they're a sex worker is the moral line that stands out to you? Explaining it is most likely better for the child's mental health in later life as hiding it implies shame, that's the kind of thing that will stick with a person into later life.

But sure Overheal is the problem. 🤣

His beloved GBNews appears to be going woke so this is a very hard time for him hence the new levels of hysteria.

So, essentially, Trudeau apologised for what was seemingly a racist act and the apology should be taken at face value as it was likely a foolish mistake.

Edit: or should we discount that apology and assume that Canada is lead by a racist at the moment.

I don't quite get that to be honest

I'm not a big sf fan at all. To me their party is still very militaristically run and cultist. I see them as a very undemocratic party that is quite extremist in expecting everyone to tow the party line. Noone talks much about all the representatives who left SF because of all the alleged bullying. Dozens and dozens.

I don't see SF as left either. They are populist nationalists. They only support causes when there is a bandwagon to hop on. They ignored water charges and repeal the 8th until the people pushed hugely on both and then they cynically hopped on the bandwagon.

They put flags and nations and borders first. True left wing parties would put people first.

Can you cite an example example of one of these "true left wing parties"?

I only ask because all the left wing regimes that have existed in the last century put people last every time.

Who want to nationalise everything in sight (Where's the money coming from?) and who have a TD (Gino Kenny) who believes FF and FG are far right parties who will use the Defence Forces and Gardai to launch an armed coup in the event of a left wing government being elected?

If PBP got the opportunity to enact their ideas in government we'd have worse unemployment than at any point during the recession and we would have to spend the next several decades repairing our international reputation.

But their name is People Before Profit so they must have their ducks in a row.

Well, you asked for an example of one “true left wing party” that puts people first.

I don’t really care for them myself, but ranting about how unreasonable they would be if they got into power isn’t exactly a fair reply to the answer you received.

There is a difference between a true left wing party that puts people first. I don't think the later exists anywhere, but that might just me being cynical. And if there is, as you say here, having the ideas on paper doesn't mean they'll actually work. Or if they did, that they'd even have support. Politicans are very good at getting people to vote against their own best interests.

It's often said that rigth-wing politics is man screwing over his fellow man - with left-wing politics it's the other way around :)

Why do you have to jump to argumentative language all the time?

I wasn't ranting, I as pointing out the negative impact their hair brained economic policy would have on the people you believe they want to put first.

Capitalism is a deeply flawed system but it's the best of a bad bunch. PBP idolise communism/socialism which has been tried repeatedly and failed repeatedly.

PBP are unsuited to achieving outcomes that benefit ordinary people. I can agree with their sentiments around the unfairness of Irish society but when they list their proposed solutions they lose the room every time.

PBP are happy with the hate legislation Bill and actively participated in(more restrictive) ammendments.

I wouldn't vote for them if they were the only party and they would be the absolute last party I would vote for.

Ignoring idiots who comment "far right" because they don't even know what it means

You’re going to have to link to those studies.

Because I believe this will be example of correlation ≠ causation.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,779 ✭✭✭✭Princess Consuela Bananahammock

You can, of course, link to those studies that show that:

1 - left-wingers die younger (not sure how that could even be prove/disproven)

    2 - left-wingers are more unhappy

And also that, if the second one is true, that the unhappiness is a direct cause of the issues you list.

Also, I've read Dr Kelly's book and I don't recall any studies based on the claims above - (in fact i dont recall him connecting happiness with left/right political affiliation at all) - can you list them directly?

I’m obviously not going to read through a whole book just to get background on why someone thinks right wingers are happier.

It would be my guess that right wingers would (as a generalisation) quite often wealthier, as they care about protecting what they have more than left wingers would. On the flip side, they would also be poorer, less educated, but happier with their community.

Left wingers would generally be middle class, believe in the class struggle and recognise that there is a class war taking place, so yes, armed with the knowledge that there is a lot of suffering in the world, and it needs people to alleviate that suffering, I’d say it’s safe to say they may indeed be unhappier.

If I’m wrong, maybe you can offer a summary of what he said instead of, “read the book.”

YOU made the claim, WITHOUT evidence. Merely naming a book title isn't "evidence".

Take the time to back up YOUR claim, or it can be dismissed without evidence.
