In fairness to Eddie he's some coach to have Australia playing exactly like England within a few months..

We're grand, coming out of the one we're in with no injuries. You could play Wales, Fiji and Australia and beat them more easily but get injuries.

We have no complaints, it's going well.

agreed, but they won't have faced the intensity of playing a game like last night... the lads won't calm down for a week, from the intensity...

i pity pushing the kids on a swing, or whatever... but its the intensity thats missing on the other side of the draw... and i'm including the quarters.

Frustrating. One of these will reach a semi final. I want Fiji to top the group.

Injuries...I cannot believe how fortunate we've been. We did fall on our feet with the two weeks off after the results. Few days of r&r is invaluable I think with family and friends.

Bad as Australia are, Wales aren’t that far ahead

Ben Donaldson isn't even a full time 10 afaik. They left at least three better fly halfs at home and dropped their starting 10, a young kid, after a few poor performances.

Jones and everyone involved in appointing him, has to go.

And quality. There can be intense game on that side, but they're not very good.

I knew it wasn't a legendary aus team, but sweet jebus!

To quote Nigel Owens 'im straighter than that one'

    Even made Barnes smile.

That's just too easy a score for Wales.

What on earth happened to the Australia defensive system?

Australia have no urgency about them, lazy out, a lot of P***ed off Ozzies going to work in an hour.

He looked a step ahead of Anscombe when the ball was kicked to me.

Eddy Jones knows how to destroy a team. Worst decision to bring him in before the world cup. Australia were playing better before he started managing them.

    Deffo ahead of the kicker!

    This could be really embarrassing

Growing up in the 90s watching Ireland being so shìt and Australia being so brilliant.....

It would have been unthinkable then to see the state of both now.....

Wales are the first team to get to grips with the small in goal areas.

Does this result set up an England v Fiji rematch for the quaters?

*assuming Fiji don't mess up two certain wins

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

That was strange, Barnes knew Anscombe snuck a few metres, told him to bring it back a few metres and he'd restart the clock. In the end settled for moving it back one metre.

    Why would he allow that?

They're making the most of an average team, have to hand it to them. Rode their luck v Fiji but today they're playing it perfectly. Strong in defence, good set piece and have scored 2 tasty tries. They won't win the WC but will make the semis and will be tough to beat

These poor Australians won't be able to go back home.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,972 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Eddie Jones ruined England's World Cup cycle through poor selection and ineffective tactics. Whenever he was questioned about it he defended himself saying he was building a squad for the tournament. That was clearly a load of nonsense.

He hasn't had much time with Australia, but he clearly hasn't brought in any sort of improvement and actively made his side worse. He can't be trusted to stay on to 2027. He's finished.

The Aussies are a cocky, macho crowd. Their professional players used beat up and hit our amateur players with cheap head high shots in Compromise Rules. No harm seeing them neutered.

is it the 5th sport in aus at this stage? Afl, cricket, soccer, league, Union?
