48 mobile

Hi all,

Thinking of switching to 48 payg from 3 as they permit tethering.

They are very cheap..so what's the catch, aside of the lack of 5g?

All I can say is that I've been getting it for a long time around Clare and Limerick.

I wonder whether its phone number is printed on the package/SIM card or it is obtained after the SIM card is activated successfully.

it is on the 3 Network , ask someone for a referral code so you can both get vouchers .

I use it in Limerick and Clare mainly and coverage is good , I did seem to find some black spots in my house but don’t think that is their fault .

When in Ireland they don’t allow tethering but I sometimes use it for tethering abroad with 0 issue .

Zombie thread, 7.99 plan doesn't have 5g anymore. All current plans come with 5g. I tether all the time, works fine.

international calls/texts use the Tesco International Calling app for Ire/UK residents. Register via your mobile number.

Saves me a fortune, texts from app arrive as sent from your mobile number.

Well undercuts your mobile provider international rates, you can get a top up at Tesco checkout rather than register a debit/credit card.
