I see the red was overturned for MacCallister. Good call.

This is not true, was shortly after the applause in which they called it out if I remember correctly (which I often don't). I don't think it was that bad though and certainly not malicious.

The Athletic are reporting that one of the clubs owned by Saudi are in for Salah. Not sure which one but it’s not Newcastle.

Cant see Liverpool selling Salah but its only a matter of time til he ends up there.

Once he doesn't actively push for it in sure he will stay this year, they can still get massive money for him next year from Saudi

This only shows that referees in the PL have both conscious + unconscious biases.

A VAR not wanting to show a referee that he made a mistake, because he's his friend and is having a tough game.

I've said it before, the VAR officials should not be taken from the referee pool, they should be EPL employees who know the rules and aren't friends with the refs. It should be completely independent, a check and balance scenario, not a mate rubber stamping and watching their buddies backs. They could even anonomise the VAR, or take the VAR from other countries, the rules are the same the world over, or should be.

The application of VAR in the EPL has been atrocious.

Spurs were in total control in the first half but 15 mins into the second half and they've been totally outplayed. 2 subs on to change things back.

Seymendo look like a real handful big and strong but looks good technically too. No nothing about him but he has looked good

2-0 and that should be that.

    Good start for ManU

    2 down in 4mins now

    Great start

Forest are not a good side, but anyone can exploit the carelessness in this current ManU side.

Eriksen gets one back. Good time to score. A 2 goal lead at HT would probably be enough against this lot.

Man Utd making Forest look like 1970s Brazil here.

Huge let-off for Man United just before half-time. A Gibbs-White shot was heading into the top corner, until it hit his own player, Awoniyi. It would have made a massive difference.

Casemiro 15 ft offside, but ball went to Fernades ,who then passed it to the 15ft offside casemiro, who was behind Fernades when the ball was played, so a good goal, but the Forest players were nowhere near Casemiro, so seems unfair in that sense.

That is an incredibly soft penalty for United. The most minimal of minimal contact there.

They don't get all the decisions it's a conspiracy theory.

Hows that a peno, looks like no contact- why no VAR involved ?

Will a manager have to miss a game if he gets five yellows?

Watching final score,I haven't seen it but they are in agreement it's a clear dive, what's the story with var?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,794 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Dubious penalty decision. It's one of those that if the ref didn't give, VAR wouldn't have called him back over.

United have been poor, but out with the wallpaper and paste to cover over those cracks. Forest should have gone in 3-1 up at half-time but didn't and then get a player sent off to leave an uphill climb.

Wolves have scored late to lead 1-0 at Everton, Kalajdzic with the goal.

In a world of trouble, assume they'll try switching managers sooner rather than later

Well the early evidence suggests City will coast to another title.

Utd look incredibly light in midfield, 2 home games with 2 wins but seriously unconvincing performances.

Chelsea have good players but they’re not a team yet.

Arsenal could be having a case of second season syndrome. They were brilliant for large parts of last season but they were somewhat of a surprise - teams will be more aware of their ability this season.

Liverpool have a thin squad and aren’t convincing in defence.

Newcastle look good but it remains to be seen how they juggle Europe and the league.

Can’t see any of them getting the likely 90+ points required. Battle for top 4 should be interesting though. You could probably chuck Brighton, Spurs and Villa into that.
