    Haha , always funny.

I think the word " boet " would give a hint as to my loyalty.

Anyways squads are not locked in until 1st September so any team can drop any player until that date.

Irish seem to love to say Sa are bending rules and so on yet the fact is players no where they stand,it’s not a conspiracy at all.anyway Ireland bent the rules for sexton to play against Portugal.but I’m sure plenty on here will say how they didn’t and so on and so on

I see the world renowned boer sense of humour is alive and well.

Anthony Watson has been ruled out of the World Cup after picking up a calf injury. Crying shame for him. He's a very good player.

With their poor form, bans and injury enforced absentees, England are getting to the stage where they've nothing to lose.

Agreed. Have always admired him as a player. 2 tour Lion & this RWC would have been his 3rd. Good news for Jonny May.

Well with the number of South Africans that fled, I mean emigrated to NZ, you can understand the confusion.

Looks like Elliot Daly is out now as well.

    Arundell is also injured atm

The difference is trying to make a dominant hit and soaking the hit. They are being coached to go for dominant hits, which always runs the risk of a card. This dipping bit is just another red herring from the games gone soft brigade.

Virtually every team goes for dominant hits. I couldn't comment on the specifics of how English players are coached with their tackling, I wouldn't know.

I didn't mention anything about dipping, but you got to throw a cliche in anyway.

The big problem with 'soak' tackles is that you can still hit someone high, break a bone in their face, put them out of action, and you're still golden. Another example of where the framework is broken.

Surely the easiest method of dislodging the ball while tackling is by using your hands, while also wrapping the ball carrier.

So the 'I was trying to dislodge the ball by driving my shoulder into the torso of the ball carrier' method is both ineffective and illegal. IMHO I believe what these tacklers is attempting to do has nothing to do with ball & all about the man.

Farrell is fairly adept at ripping the ball and he does use this upright technique to block the carrier's body and pull the ball away. He plays with fire and gets burned regularly.

A soak tackle by definition absorbs the force. It would be possible in any contact to break a bone but it is far less risky.

Yes all teams including Ireland try make dominant hits when they can. Porter got away with one against NZ last year for instance. However, if a team is consistently getting pinged for high hits, with a high degree of force. Do you not think it’s a coaching issue, rather than a framework issue. Since there are other teams who don’t experience the same issues?

No you didn’t use the word diping. I must have misunderstood your meaning when you said a 6’1” player comes at you at 5’8”. What was that referring to?

Kwagga Smith replace slippy Leroux on the bench versus the kiwis .

Meaning they are going 7-1 on the bench

    😁😁😁😁😁😁

I wish they would show replays of what's happening in the lineout, to see whether it's valid or the ref just deciding to be pedantic today.

NZ lucky to not get a card already here. SA should have converted one of these to a try though.

    Great maul defence.

    Great defence there

Good alright, but SA were very sloppy. Have to do better with that many chances.

2nd last warning for NZ 😁

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,871 ✭✭✭TheRona

Although NZ will no doubt end up getting a yellow, it has to be pretty demoralising for SA to be camped in their 22m for almost the entire match without scoring

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,782 ✭✭✭Brief_Lives

there were 5 penalties in 5 plays in the 5 metre and no card, crazy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 728 ✭✭✭MaddChris

SA creating very little in attack, Warren ball style

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,335 ✭✭✭standardg60

Agree some poor attacking options by SA, big overlap wasted by Willemses kick too

They should have had a card alright, but SA are just not creative enough in attack against top sides. Criminal that they made nothing from all that opportunity and territory.

Lomax off injured. Horrible cut to his knee, could be a doubt for France game

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 9,270 ✭✭✭fitz

Jaysus that's a horrific injury for Lomax.
