Where to find plastic strips

Looking to make a vertical jumper for a sports team I'm training, something like this:

Anyone know where I could find light (but rigid) strips of plastic? Even something I could cut to shape

I was considering cable ties but will they not just droop down too much? Had something more rigid in mind

Get an old 5 or 10 litre drum and cut 1inch strips out of it.

Make them longer than you want so you can wrap one end around the threaded bar you'll need.

A staple gun would come in handy as well

Depends on how thick / rigid you want them to be, but maybe 12" x 12" vinyl floor tiles? They're usually self-adhesive these days so you could stick two back to back to give you the thickness / rigidity and then cut them into strips.
