Couldn’t you just buy a cut price version of tge e-book?

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 10,826 Mod ✭✭✭✭squonk

Are the e-codes unique or common? If common just club together with other parents and pay a quid each to buy the physical book and share the e-code

If you have tge physical book though, why do you need an iPad? Surely child 2 could slum it and use the paper book? Especially if the code is expired

Do the e-books prohibit screenshots? If not that’s another option for child 2. Combine into a pdf.

These days now they will take out/add in a paragraph, mark it as the Nth edition which is mandatory for a given year, getting rid of the 2nd hand option.

I remember my mother having an argument with my teacher, about 30 odd years ago, ending with my mother telling the teacher that she wasn't buying me a nature or geography book, because both of the ones from the year before had been opened as far as page 10.

FFS. An iPad is not cheap. Why not a kindle Fire, which is about a fifth of the price?

Now that primary kids are getting their free books the government should just cut the back to school allowance for this group and pay a larger subvention to the secondary schools to address this age group.

I somehow think that an RTE salary wouldn't be cause to worry about school costs, KT.

I bet KT's kids aren't swanning into skule in Aldi gear.

They had already started that craic when I was in school. Busy With Maths 6, 1359th edition.

Im pretty sure maths have not changed since the days of Euclid, so why does there need to be an edition to the maths book?

caller complaining about the cost of returning to school and she's buying iPads to beat the band. If she spent a bit of time researching other much cheaper compatible devices and less time on the airwaves...
