Looks like the wrong colour streamers were fired out!

Some of them getting on a bit but when you hear the names rattled off you remember what an incredible group of players this Dublin team are.

Kerry’s firepower let them. They were in positions to score but blew them. Cost them in a poor final from a quality point of view.

Dublin missed as many chances as Kerry. They were the best team when it really came down to it.

Deserved win for Dublin. Kerry were dreadful. They went 3 up and just stopped playing. They only got 2 points in the last 25 minutes. You're never going to win like that. They were slightly lucky to get by a poorer Dublin team last season and the luck ran out today.

Vindication for Dessie Farrell after a number of Dublin fans were calling for his head this year. Some were even saying that Louth were going to beat them in the Leinster final.

    Congratulations Dublin

I from Kerry and I wouldn’t agree... Kerry can have no complaints... none.. kicked it away... literally kicked it away...

Great second half I thought , Dublin were the better team and just about deserved the win.

David Clifford had a poor game by his standards missed some very scoreable chances and Con O'Callaghan apart from the turnover he created in the first half that lead to a break up the field for Dublin and a score was dreadful today.

Some achievement by James McCarthy and Cluxton to win 9 all Irelands and the be a starter on each team.

I think they should give McCarthy the footballer of the year ward as a lifetime achievement type of thing as he's never won it before and I think Clifford cost himself being the undisputed winner of it today.

Fairly galling to see McCarthy lift Sam after that performance from him. He should be embarrassed, if he had any grace he'd let Rock or McCaffrey lift it.

Missed at least 3 sitters and had some desperate hail marys that werent on. Worst game I have seen him play. Lack of composure was the most surprising thing. Pressure seemed to get to him.

Awful game. The game is dying.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,656 ✭✭✭awaywithyou

His mistake didn’t help... but Kerry went 3 up after it.... and were then outscored 7-2...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,034 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

He really didn't. It's that Clifford put his boots on the wrong feet today. The pressure must have gotten to him. He was hyped and hyped and hyped in the media. Comparisons like him being the Messi of Gaelic football.

    Fair play Dublin

    What a team..

Some tough match but conditions do that.

So **** happy..got to keep those Kerry boys honest. They could still go on and dominate the next few years..

    Fitz being interviewed lol...

Plenty of shots with mick no where near him - beat him - got the shot off - wide - how many wides? Is Mick kicking wides now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,309 ✭✭✭evolvingtipperary101

Kerry had so many chances - chance after chance - handed it to Dublin with wides

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,656 ✭✭✭awaywithyou

For a guy of cliffords talent... some of the shots he took on were not difficult

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,058 ✭✭✭vetinari

He had a very poor second half. The GAA are desperate for star names and to create an illusion that Dublin won't perpetually dominate. He's obviously a very good player but similar to other good forwards around the country. He believed his own hype today

The referee really swayed towards Dublin when the chips were down. At least next year the dubs will stop pretending they're underdog's every game and Leinster won't be easy.

They'll be red hot favourites and rightly so. Personally I feel Derry were robbed this year but you're never gonna get a fair crack against Dublin or Kerry.

    Booing the ref

    Classless stuff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,012 ✭✭✭robbiezero

Not sure why they are booing Gough. Had a fine game IMO and had no impact on the result.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,034 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Ya, but Dublin won't care. They've won a lot of All-Ireland's playing dross. Today a case in point.

Extremely poor by some Dubs supporters to boo the ref

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,589 ✭✭✭standardg60

Yep he was pretty poor today.

Mick Fitzsimons is one smart lad, very articulate.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,058 ✭✭✭vetinari

Please, Dublin should be favorites every year. If anyone thought Louth could beat them, they're delusional

What about all the chances Dublin had?

Chance after chance, yet they didn’t hand it to Kerry.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,111 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

Hell of a game. Kerry wil have big regrets.

One slip gave Dublin a soft goal against the run of play at the time.

Fitzsimmons did some job on Clifford.

I thought Dublin's experience and bench would win it in the last 15 or so minutes and not allow Kerry to do what they did v Derry in that time.

Not at all bitter towards Kerry as a few posters thought prematch - I've no love for Dublin I can tell you but Dublin could stay with Kerry and they did. Dublin could manage the last 15 of a big game and they did. Dublin had a bench to make a difference and they did.

For Kerry to win I thought Clifford would have to be at his peak - he wasn't. He shot several wides ( 4 I think) and apart from a great pass for the goal he did not rise to his usual high standards and that was enough to limit Kerry's scoring power and that was enough for Dublin. In fact, his brother surprisingly played better than him I thought.

Dublin had a few poor performers too I thought but their ability to break quickly was super as was their kickout strategy for the most part.

Not a classic but the closeness on the scoreboard and tactical changes made it a good watch.

Gough gave a few soft yellows but had a good game overall I think.

Dublin the deserving winners in the end, Kerry can have no complaints.

In what world does a back conceding two points from play, and giving up an assist for a goal, in the back pocket? 2 points from play anywhere, the forward wins the battle. Clifford had a bad last 15 mins with wides but Fitz had F all to do with it
