They're out but they can have no complaints - really just not good enough.

To be honest, I though that the first game but not right now.

There was far more cohesion first half. All discipline and concentration seems to have gone out the window since half time. I dont know if it's a stamina issue and just tiredness , or psychological.

But we've put the ball straight out under minimal pressure about half a dozen times now. Canada should have scored about six but for some good saves and poor shooting.

I'm not having a dig, I just think the first half was far more cohesive and showed we can do better than this. It's like they were all drugged at HT.

One of the Irish players today was visibly overweight in the context of top level sport, it doesn't speak well at all about the fitness regime for the squads, so them gassing the 2nd half shouldn't be a surprise.

I hope a few of the girls do well out of this financially after the World Cup. Sponsorship etc. A good few of them are very marketable I think.

Which one? The Canadian player that came on at the very end looked a bit heavy too.

Very disappointing 2nd half. Really fell off a cliff. Just not enough quality to progress. I don't want to hear about how great. History making or whatever else they are. 2nd half wasn't good enough and deserves to be called out.

It's possible to do both though - acknowledge that it is history making, that they did have some really good moments of play, that's it has been (and still is, there's still a lot of World Cup to go) wonderful for young football playing girls to see Ireland play on the world stage - and at the same time notice that we've got gaps in certain places, that we really lost our drive in the second half and there are serious amounts of work to be done. It's not all one or the other. (Unless you are my daughter who wanted every Canadian who so much as looked at Irish player wrong, sent off immediately 😁)
