Is the interview after the personality test and will they ask questions about the personality test .

Furthermore is there two interviews ?

What questions they ask on the interview ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 286 ✭✭Stretch1432

Also do they do a background or garda vetting later on ?

Two interviews. One on the 16pf, and if successful then a competency based one.

They ask if you have a criminal record I think, but no real Garda vetting. They ask for two work references which they call to check.

If you take a few minutes and google the competencies you’ll find them for yourself. 😁

Train Host positions available in Kent Station Cork. 39 hour contracts. Apparently their only being advertised within the company. Anyone that would be interested could email them their CV , and include their customer service experience and they'd love to join Iarnrod Eireann bla bla bla. The email on the job advert is IERURecruitment@irishrail.ie ....For anyone interested, might be worth sending them their CV, nothing to lose

I’m being told loads of different things about training . As far as I know for anyone training that’s not from Dublin your put up in a hotel for the training and your meals are sorted , etc and you’re paid 45-50k first year training? Can anyone clarify the setup ?

Depends what depot you’ve applied for. It depends on your commute distance. There’s a training centre in Mallow as well as Inchicore.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 428 ✭✭Designator

I heard the training centre in mallow is closed at the moment though? So everything is done in inchicore?

People still commute from the country to train daily in Inchicore, if they are going to be based in the Dublin depots. It's generally regional drivers, training in Dublin, that get accommodation including meals.

It reopened last year and had a regional class there. They had to come to Dublin for railcar and simulator training though.

Hi lads would anyone who has already been through the selection be able to give me any advice on the line manager interview.is it much the same as the 16pf interview or what can I expect. Thank you

Heyo- just trying to understand what’s to happen did the 16pf test there on Friday and haven’t heard anything was there an interview that was scheduled for others?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38 slowclap

Nothing scheduled yet for me and I did it Thursday. One poster said he was given an interview date same day as the 16pf but not me. Deadline for completing 16pf was this morning so I reckon they’ll take some time to analyze them before they start inviting for interviews.

I'm out after phase 2 assessments. Was tough all the same, i think i did ok but not great and with the amount that applied, they probably take the top few.

Best of luck to everyone left in the process.

    Choo Choo 😀

After the close off point of yesterday morning, has everyone received confirmation of getting through for an interview or not getting through? I’m still waiting back to hear if I was successful or not.

Nothing yet for me - i think it’s the not knowing that’s taking its toll.
