First time attendee here,on the way home now as the kids are wrecked but the event itself was a bit of a let down, not counting the weather. I was expecting something along the lines of All Together Now in terms of the vibe and what it was aiming for, instead it was more like a jumped up local GAA event. I acknowledge there is nothing in itself wrong with that , except for the cost of tickets.I'd say they'll suffer if they try run it again at that scale as it's not up to scratch. No real atmosphere or vibe created or no sense of being at a true festival, the set up more resembled the middle of the ploughing match. The amusements were hatchet and and there was really very little there for kids apart from the circus.

All said I heard some great acts even if the sound was a bit uncomfortably loud in sone of the tents, and I'd no problem with the transport.

No forest in the fest, no fest in the forest.

On the loudness in tents. there are a lot of folks with small kiddies with out any ear protection, f.ucking idiots.

Another reminder that the majority of people are idiots. Fair enough 20yrs ago. But in this day and age really no excuse.

Not sure how you ever got the impression it would be like ATN or similar.

How many more years? How much time is there left? All the rivers reversed while you counted each step.

Children's earmuffs? Are teenager's/adult's hearing not important either? Although it was billed as a children friendly festival?

I've been at many gigs in tents where there was comfortable enjoyable sound levels eg marquee in Cork, this was particularly poor. Anyway, it's a festival, not a nightclub.

Just the festival title, the description, promotion etc.

    What's the security like?

Wouldn't mind seeing Suede tomorrow. Could I just head on in without a ticket?

You could watch them from emo court side. You don't have to be within the festival grounds

Just back after night two of Forest fest the weather did it's best to dampen things the last two nights but it's been enjoyable, entertaining nights and hopefully more of the same for night 3.

I mainly focused on the main stage while popping into the tents for a small sample.

On the main stage Ash were good had forgot about the many good hits they have, didn't notice the sound issues as some as mentioned here. Proclaimers, Nik Kershaw all very good and James finished the night off in style. Timothy Booth has some energy and stage presence.

Tonight. Enjoyed the Undertones so many classics who wouldn't. Jack L with the choir was decent. Riptide movement, Big Country moved things up another level and Bell X1 was the best performers of the night and got the best crowd reaction.

Sister Sledge was ok when they focused on singing but spent a lot of their time off stage with many clothes changes and overplayed the dancing with fans on stage.

    Day 2

Undertones / Frank & Walters / TCM (new singer pretty good) / Kila & Brass (sensational!) / Alabama 3

Another fine day of music, some lovely IPAs and decent food.

The weather was poor but it didn't seem to dampen people's mood.

I haven't seen FB but I'd imagine they're getting pelters, Campsite like a bog n just one bale of hay put down yesterday. Not looking forward to pulling a cart through it later on.

we've decided to head home tonight, hopefully the field is good enough that we don't get bogged..

Anyway, i think it's to be drier today and I've another full day of music ahead of me!

Current drizzle to turn to rain about 12, then starting about 1pm - PROPER rain and that could last a couple of hours

But should be dry this evening

Spare me the pearl clutching performative horror, I didn’t say they weren’t but teenagers and adults are able to say no and walk out, wee kiddies are not there by choice.

(teenagers should not be there anyway)

Not great scheduling yesterday with Sister Sledge, Sharon Shannon and Alabama 3 all clashing and very late, Sledge didn't finish until after 1am for what was a family show.

The weather was horrendous. Floods on roads coming in, love the Irish summer lol. Riptide were great. Frank and Walters the tent was bursting at seams but as usual they were on fire.

Caught Big Country and end of the Pillow Queens. Performance of the night though Bell X1 even in the pissing rain.
