All these “young persons.” Seems to be the way to excuse them of any responsibility.

How can someone high profile in 2023 think they can keep these shenigans - even if legal - quiet.

Only a matter of time before blackmail or tabloid money grab rears its head.

Yes. Have always thought the same. You can’t fart now without someone knowing about it.

Yes, but another man in his early 20s. This is desperate stuff from The Sun - reporting on online sexual interactions between adult men on dating apps as if it's some sort of massive scandal.

Am pretty sure the UK tabloids would be all over a story like this - dating app or offline, gay or straight... with the hint of money changing hands.

    Google Frank Bough.

There’s a few of us here unfortunately who don’t need to Google Frank Bough - we can narrate that story from first hand memory 🤪😛

At most, it's some sort of mildly sleazy story. But keep in mind that The Sun were initially accusing the unnamed TV presenter of child pornography and possible child abuse offences - it seems they may have hugely messed up here and are desperately trying to wheedle their way out of it.

First hand knowledge you say? I hope you enjoyed the parties :)

There was Angus Deayton a few years later too.

And now we have a new BBC man...

Yep, that episode or indeed episodes of HIGNFY are just priceless- poor sod- it would nearly be acceptable today when compared to all the other horrible stuff that’s been uncovered since- his position of chief cynic though was completely undermined by his actions so he had to go from that show.

Yes they are in 'reverse ferret' mode.

They seem to have really screwed this one up.

But even without The Sun over egging it there is more than enough here for a tabloid scandal.

Has the presenter broken any law though? The police don't seem interested at all and don't appear to think he has done anything illegal. A big problem for The Sun is that these interactions appear to have been all online and the presenter never even met any of these men.

I dont think you are up to speed on the developments today.

The police advised the BBC to pause their internal investigation and that was before the 3rd set of accusations came out. They wouldnt do that if they werent interested.

And in the 3rd set of allegations yes there is suggestion of breaches of covid laws and money changing hands and hookups in person.

But laws dont need to have been broken for the Sun to comment on it.

And when the name of the person does out if the later allegations are true ... then BBC man wont have much of a reputation left to try to defend themselves against the earlier possibly false accusations.

He is toast as a presenter regardless of whether there was illegal activity or not. I see Jeremy Vine has pleaded with the presenter to issue a statement. I wonder will an mp use Parliament to name him if this goes on much longer.

Looks like all his propositions are coming out of the woodwork now and jumping on the bandwagon.

On Tuesday, the BBC said it only made two attempts to contact the family after the initial complaint was made in June, and that it waited seven weeks before having a conversation with the presenter about the allegations.

BBC director-general Tim Davie revealed that he has not spoken to the presenter since the allegations were made.

He was questioned by BBC Radio 4's The World At One host Sarah Montague on Tuesday about the corporation's handling of the claims.

Speaking about the unnamed presenter, she told Davie: "We're in a very strange situation, aren't we, in that he's not been named, but everyone in this building knows who it is.

If old men knew how to use the internet, they'd not spend 35k to get nudes, twitter is a free for all under Musk, countless OF's accounts pushing their creations, 35k, ffs,

A fresh set of claims has emerged about the BBC presenter accused of paying a teenager thousands of pounds for sexually explicit photos, alleging he broke COVID lockdown rules to meet a 23-year-old.

In the latest allegations published by The Sun, the unnamed star is alleged to have travelled to the 23-year-old's home in February 2021 - while COVID restrictions prevented people from meeting anyone outside their household or bubble.

The newspaper said it had seen messages suggesting the presenter sent cash and asked for a picture - and was sent a semi-naked photo.

I'm still trying to work out what the actual story is here. The Sun say the presenter sent a young man "abusive texts" but so what?? If you tell someone they are an 'effing creep' or a 'horrible little git', that is an abusive text. How on earth is this leading the BBC News for 15 minutes this evening?

At this stage you'd be the only one not knowing who it is, it's comical now, as everyone knows who it is, but his name can't be mentioned, even other presenters are saying it's about time he stepped up, it's out there now, and no point in hiding.

From what I can tell the 2nd complainant received threatening text messages

"Earlier on Tuesday, a second person came forward with a complaint about the presenter.

The person told BBC News they felt threatened by the unnamed star.

The individual in their early 20s was first contacted anonymously by the male presenter on a dating app, according to the BBC.

They reportedly said they were put under pressure to meet up but never did.

When the person hinted online they might name the presenter, they were sent abusive, expletive-filled messages, the BBC said.

The broadcaster reported it had seen "a number of threatening messages" and had verified they had been sent from a phone number belonging to the presenter.

The complainant told the BBC they had been scared by the power the presenter held and the threats in the messages had frightened them.

BBC News said it had contacted the unnamed star via his lawyer but had received no response to the allegations."

But if that guy was being threatened by text by the celeb, he could have blocked him instantly as soon as the first nasty text came through (on the dating app, on his phone, on WhatsApp or anywhere else). Something doesn't add up here.

This bbc presenter is on twitter '' liking'' tweets calling this story false, and libelous 😄

I think I’ve worked out who it is, piecing the info together that we’re being drip fed. Now of course I might be wrong but i certainly don’t see that person stepping forward to name themselves. I’d see a super injunction being sought to be honest.

3 cases of behaviour that is legal save for a COVID breach which is really scraping the barrel - quantity certainly doesn't equal quality here.

The only reason the BBC suspended him was because of the alleged illegal behaviour with child porn which the Sun is now rowing back on. The Sun is now claiming their concern was always around the child's welfare when in reality they are questioning behaviour between consenting adults. Arguably he should be reinstated straight away
