Armagh well used to a shootout historically though!

    3 mins overtime wtf?

    Hopefully Armagh lose now.

Neither of these teams are getting past the semi stage let’s be honest. Complete lack of killer instinct

At least the penalties gives us some excitement.

That is if they can score any 🤣

As Murphy says, cool clear heads required now for penalties, and Monaghan have the advantage here I feel, as McManus and even Beggan illustrated now. They also have a real goalkeeper which is a big advantage, Rafferty's football skills are of no use now!

3 mins was added and Conor McManus scored in the 7th minute of added time, not sure where the ref got the extra 4 minutes from but Monaghan probably deserved a draw out of that game. Are Armagh to loss yet another shootout or 3rd time lucky for them?

Yeah they just said that now, but I would add that Rafferty is a headcase to have in goal. You never know what he would do.

The only thing the GAA got right was having this game on second

Armagh players wasted most of that time fouling and lying down on the ground.

I'm a only listening to it on the radio but I'd say it came from the cramps, the amount of time it took hawk eye to fail, the long time it took Beegan to take the second last free etc.

Brutal that this drama isn't on free-to-air TV. A bad way to decide the winner as well.

Keepers not getting near them now.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Nonsense - there was still time left when the Monaghan player was fouled and then 3 Armagh players preceded to lay on him so they could get positioned again plus there was a man injured.

Would love to see a Panenka pen

Beggan saved one - Armagh Q off the line etc

Terrible to see this soccer shite infesting our games- could we not settle it with a fistfight in the box?

This is giving me Isner vs Mahut vibes.

They should make New players take penos not the same 5. These first 5 are too good.

    Monaghan! That is all!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,224 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

So Cumisky misses his penalty again to decide it. That's doing a disservice sorry to Rory Beggan, he has saved it again. It's wrong though, for any team to go out like that. Break your back all season, play 90 minutes on the day, and it's decided on the 18th penalty. RTE Radio 1 couldn't get off the air quick enough after the result for Saturday Sounds.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,780 ✭✭✭robbiezero

Well done Monaghan and McManus. Armagh will feel unlucky to come out the wrong side of another penalty shoot out, but the onus was on them to ensure that the game didnt get to that point and they failed with quite a poor display so no sympathy for them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,661 ✭✭✭testtech05

I was wondering about that being a rule same as soccer. Rafferty was miles off the line for the one he saved too. Didn't catch a replay of Beggans save

Monaghan have a chance against anyone bar Kerry. Monaghan are not in div1 as long for no reason.
