I nearly did it again, was on chat to confirm it was available. they confirmed had to be collected in 7 days & would be a 232 reg 😮

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 220 ✭✭Penname

Would have thought that too. Charging for a minute then cutting out. It’s like the car is asking for too much from it. We could either stick a hub on it and update it that way or get a new one.

Hub available for €100 here or you could borrow one for a few days from a friend if you think the Hub might not sort it. Maybe check with Myenergi first. They have recently given discounts for new Zappis to owners of Zappi V1’s that are no longer supported. Yours is likely to be a V2 though.

It seems even though Tesla applied for SEAI grant last month they have reduced it on my order to new amount.

Full €5K grant is valid for 4 months from approval date. SEAI will confirm this if you need to fight for your €1500.

Curious to know how you can be certain Tesla applied for the grant last month.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 280 ✭✭ModelWhy

Prices are up by €1500 today after grant reduction. I had wondered if Tesla would have absorbed the difference but seems not.

What's interesting though is on the inventory page, some MYLRs that were grant eligible yesterday are only showing the "Showroom Adjustment" on the price and not any SEAI grant at all! The SEAI press release didn't mention any change to the thresholds: https://www.gov.ie/en/press-release/e0766-changes-to-grants-for-privately-purchased-electric-vehicles/

    Screenshot_20230701_095802_Brave.jpg

So it would seem you might still be able to get a MYLR with s discount AND a SEAI grant of €3500. Still a lot of car for €52200 or so.

Impossible to know if the send it but couple weeks earlier they made me sign the forms.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,826 ✭✭✭joe1303l

It would be worth asking them when they sent it and when they got approval. All they needed to apply was your VIN number and your details from the form. It is all done online and usually approved very quickly by SEAI.

This is most likely paperwork collected in advance as an additional step and actual grant wont be applied for until they are ready to assign/deliver a car. Am assuming when you mention appearing on your order that you have not taken delivery in Q2..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,521 ✭✭✭September1

If there is one thing I learned over recent months is that there is no point in asking Tesla (at least using regular channels) anything but to request refund of deposit. They provide misleading information unfortunately.

Are you sure that VIN is required? I think for many manufacturers VIN is not known in 4 months before delivery which seems to be time they give to get vehicle delivered.

You assumption is correct and I do not even have VIN at this stage, order is still editable. I guess if they just collected paperwork then I'm out of 1500 sadly.

Looking at doing a PCP for the M3 standard with tow hitch.

Has anyone done PCP through Tesla, I have a 171 golf highline with 75k kms on her. Do Tesla do trade ins or would I have to sell privately?

I thinking I would probably get close to 19k for the folk privately, got a quote for an ID on PCP only offering 15k trade, ID4 base model costing 48k. The M3 is a no brained.

    thanks

    That’s just getting things prepared.

Id say good chance there’s no application if you have no delivery date soon.

Tesla don't want your trade-in. They will offer it to the trade and tell you what the best offer is. Most people are better off selling privately.

I got an order update emailed yesterday on a white M3P order, still showed a €5k grant being deducted. Seai form Signed about 2 weeks ago & no vin assigned

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,521 ✭✭✭September1

Maybe they forgot about me then, I have same order.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,456 ✭✭✭BobbyT28

looking at M3, Am I right in saying that the monthly payments on this are €507 and not €413 ? The €413 they mention is just what you save over the 5 years on fuel?

if it is, that’s very misleading!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,635 ✭✭✭Redfox25

    Yes, its 507 pm.

The lower figure is the 507 minus your fuel saving to give you an overall cost per month. Its a nice idea but is misleading or at least confusing.

Did the ever update that to reflect the current electricity cost and petrol costs?

Yeah very misleading!!! I was wondering why it was so cheap!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,456 ✭✭✭BobbyT28

    Don’t think they have!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,456 ✭✭✭BobbyT28

Cheaper getting a work credit union loan over 5 years and no ballon payment at the end

I pulled the trigger on last week, MYLR with Hitch & Wheels 20 (54,XXX) Price included SEAI grant on the website, confirmation email with order agreement price shot up 5k, now waiting on delivery have not paid yet, still waiting to speak to them, From reading the msg’s here this happened before, To happen once Okay, but again, not okay,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,635 ✭✭✭Redfox25

With the hitch you may loose the grant, someone got them to remove the hitch to go back under the grant cap but your mileage may vary with that one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,826 ✭✭✭joe1303l

This has happened numerous times in the past few months and is well documented here from around the end of March. Push them hard and you may get a resolution like one or two others. The majority however have ended up with cancelled orders. CCPC got a few complaints on this but I’m not aware if it got any traction.

Collected the car, MYLR base model, last Friday. Thanks to all on this forum, who contributed valuable advice/knowledge.

    1) The process was pretty quick and it was simply Tesla rep handing over two key cards. I was told that it's OK to raise any issues/concerns on Tesla app within a week. Since it was raining, I didn't do much inspection and just drove away. The car is clean both inside and outside.

    2) It is relatively quiet in cabin. But once lifting the speed a bit, the road noise from the tyres became obvious.

    3) The suspension is not soft - even on 19' tyres. People are saying it got improved and is much softer than pre-2023 models. But while it's acceptable, it is definitely harder than my previous car.

    4) The driving experience is quite different from ICE cars, but it took me no time to get used to one-pedal driving - very enjoyable way of controlling the car with precision and convenience.

    5) The screen and OS is great. I don't miss the dashboard in front of the steering wheel at all. I normally just check my current speed from the dashboard, and such info locates on the top right corner of Tesla's big screen and is very easy to read.

    6) There are any obvious panel gaps or paint issue with my car. The only problem is some minor damage to the internal trim on the driver-side door, as per the attached photo. Not sure how it gets there and it could be the person doing the pre-delivery clean caused it by accident.

    7) Sometimes (not always), an electrical-current like noise occurs from the back of the car when driving - not too loud but certainly noticeable if not playing music. I'm not sure whether it's normal or not.

Best of luck with new car, enjoy.

That door trim damage would annoy me, it is something that is very noticeable. Looks like there is a scratch to left of it as well. Get a service request in asap...

Thanks. The car is extremely smooth to drive and feels very high-tech.

The door trim damage is unfortunate. It seems that someone with a sharp tool scratched through it. Will raise a service request, but not sure what they could do with...

Presume they will replace whole piece, probably just clips on. May take a while to get done if parts not already in stock. Probably/hopefully a ranger job
