I'd say the evidence is provided by Trump himself in his various deranged rallies, videos and social media posts.

Maybe he's ok to play golf... but his conduct shows him to be unfit for office which is more important. He attempted to subvert the election. He was found liable in a court of law for sexual assault.

What would you call someone who incriminates himself on audio, and even in interviews incriminates himself with regard to deliberately mishandling classified documents? And commits further defamation of a sexual assault victim? If not an idiot? Politically, at least.

    And there's this:

A gallery of mental health professionals deliver a devastating diagnosis of our current chief executive in Dan Partland's documentary... malignant narcissism.

Just listening to discussion about the audio of Trump and the classified documents, and the suggestion was that the other people in the room were reading the stuff that Trump was showing, and laughing about the documents. Presumably the suggestion was they had some culpability in the whole business. While they reacted in a very weak way to Trump's showing off, I got the impression that the laughter was nervous and sycophantic and there was nothing convincing that showed they were actually reading the documents.

I didn't make the biden claims, just highlighting the usual hypocrisy at play here.

So, by your criteria, trump clearly suffering cognitive decline then?

Again, I'm happy to rely on the medics in these judgements :)

I doubt they "read" the documents line by line, but they saw them and absorbed elements of the content , certainly sufficient to meet any legal threshold for "sharing confidential information"

Agree that they sounded a bit nervous and were mostly fawning in their tone.

I'm reminded of the comments from Kid Rock (Kid f*cking Rock!!!) in an interview where he talked about Trump showing him classified maps and him thinking to himself "I shouldn't be seeing this stuff , this isn't supposed to be shown to people like me"

In a 2022 interview with Tucker Carlson on Fox News, the country rock star claims the former president asked his advice and showed him what he believed to be secret information during a visit to the White House in 2017.

“We’re looking at maps and s***, and I’m like, ‘Am I supposed to be in on this s***?’” Rock says in the clip as Carlson bursts out laughing.

“I make dirty records sometimes... ‘What do you think we should do about North Korea?’ I’m like, ‘What? I don’t think I’m qualified to answer this.’”

Trump has absolutely shown classified stuff to many more people, of that I think we can be absolutely certain.

    Quick, a squirrel!

By your metrics, is donald suffering cognitive decline or not?

    Absolutely Sh!tting himself..

"Could someone please explain to Donald Trump that it's possible to be held accountable under 2 separate laws and that prosecutors don't have to pick only one"

Good article here explaining why the "Clinton Socks defence" isn't actually a defence.

As an aside - Why is everyone that opposes Trump deemed to be "Deranged" or a "Psycho" etc.

I think the likelihood of someone in their late seventies not experiencing cognitive decline is very small.

    Its projection, hes describing himself.

Isn't his main problem not that he took the documents but he ignored a legally binding subpoena to return them and lied to his lawyers about the fact that he had hidden them and got them moved.

So, donald is suffering cognitive decline, in your opinion.

When did this decline start do you think? Before he was asked to take a cognitive test by physicians, or afterwards? Do you trust the medical report that he wrote for himself or should we disregard it and take it as confirmation that he was exhibiting signs of a decline when he was asked to take the test? (given that White House physicians didn't require other presidents to take the test).

When someone resorts to mistruths to bolster their argument it is usually a poor reflection of either their argument or themselves.

Is it true that Trump was required to take the Montreal Cognition Test while other presidents were not required to?

No, he wasn't "forced" to take the Montreal test , he asked to take it and then in true Trump fashion described it as a "very tough test" that he absolutely aced and that the Doctors couldn't believe how well he'd done etc. etc.

When in fact the Montreal test is only used if a doctor is concerned about a patients cognitive health , it is never part of any standard checkup regardless of how old you are.

Also - If you think it's a "tough test" then that is really not a good sign at all.

I believe defendant Donald John Trump is medically competent to stand trial.

As always it's the lying and the cover-up that is the problem.

Trump , Biden and Pence all had documents in their possession that they should not have had/taken from their previous jobs.

However in the case of Biden and Pence , these were things taken in error (or taken during their terms and simply forgotten about or overlooked) but once they were discovered or once they were asked to check if they had anything , both men immediately returned everything they had and were open and honest with the various responsible groups.

As a result the issues were treated for what they were , oversights and/or genuine mistakes - Everybody moved on , no harm no foul.

Trump however deliberately lied , hid documents , moved them so they wouldn't be found , had his lawyers lie in legal documents and ignored multiple subpoenas on the issue.

It's now also clear that he knew what he had and showed them to un-authorised people - Which is why he is being charged under the Espionage act.

That squirrel really has you twisting sideways :)

So now that you think both the current president and donald are suffering cognitive decline, who do you think is suffering from worse symptoms and why? Now is finally your chance to bring some evidence to bear.

Personally I think you'll find it very hard to find something that looks bad for the current president that donald hasn't been the greater fool.

I expect a retraction for the "mistruths" you accuse me of now that Quin_Dub schooled you as well.

It's not about "who has the worst mental decline" it's about "who's current mental pathology is worse for the US?"

A Joe Biden that might have lost a step or two will always be less of a risk to the US (and the world) than the demented, delusional behaviours of Donald Trump.

    THAT is the key question.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86,683 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

And that pathology is "I am your retribution"

There's a lot more mentally wrong there than simple old man cognitive decline. But like I said, competent to stand trial.

    Dub-Quin schooled me?

You claimed something that wasn’t true, ie that Trump was required to take the test while other presidents were not.

Mistruth - a false or misleading statement.

The honourable thing would be to at least acknowledge the mistruth. I would hope you would.

You were very quick on another thread to lob out accusations of cognitive decline. And now you clam up.

You keep dodging the pertinent question.

You said someone in their late 70s must be starting to experience cognitive decline. Implicitly that means you think Trump is experiencing cognitive decline.

So is 77 year old Trump unfit to be President? Yes or no?

And what medical evidence can you bring to the table to justify your answer?

As I have said before. I don’t believe either Trump or Biden should be seeking what is arguably the most demanding job in the world. Time to let a younger individual , post WW2 generation, have a turn.

That's not the question that was asked of you though is it.

You were very quick on another thread to lob out accusations of cognitive decline. And now you clam up. Was that partisanship???

Is Trump fit for office or not?

Speaking of cognitive decline, if you read what I said, I believe both Trump and Biden have experienced cognitive decline and neither should seek election.

That's the third time you have dodged the question put to you. You weren't asked if they should seek election. You were asked if Trump was fit for office despite cognitive decline. And do you have any basis for this answer or is it personal opinion without foundation.

Both sides yet again. Biden is governing well, Trump is a traitor who's already limited cognitive capacity is somehow degrading even further.
