    Walsh is having a mare.

20 minutes since Mayo scored - good job for them that Galway are fluffing those scoring chances.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Walsh having a nightmare. No contribution from play and a few bad free misses. Cooke on the other hand has been phenomenal.

Mayo have one set attack and one only.

Mayo are **** in large quantities.

Mayo's achilles heel coming back to haunt then again. Poor shooting and desperate wides. The more things change the more they stay the same.

Mayo are dire. Been kept in it with some atrocious misses by Galway.

Also Aidan O'Shea out around midfield is a disaster.

That's embarrassing from Mayo irrespective of the strong wind. Only 3 points in 36 minutes of play and their last one was in the 8th minute.

It's one thing saying there's a breeze, but when a team can't kick a point unless they are 10 yds out it's a joke. Nearly every time there's a match in salthill the wind ruins it. Would have been a much better spectacle in tuam, or anywhere away from the coast.

Has Mcloughlin been playing for Mayo much this year? A hard worker no doubt but even at his peak he struggled to put a ball over from 25 metres out. Why bother

2 very bad misses at the end there from us, I'd have been confident if we went in only 3 down. Being eaten alive on breaks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,232 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

It's always like this in Salthill. I agree it does ruin the matches. No game should be played there.

There's no substitute for kicking frees off the ground. Especially in dry conditions. The likes of Trevor Giles or Maurice Fitz would have been in the high 80% conversion rate. Theyd never miss from 30m in. From the hand it's always a strong possibility for even the best. It's hard to understand why it's being completely ignored by teams today given every % counts.

Tierney is a good freetaker off the ground. I'd try him on a few instead of walsh.

That's probably a debate for another day, but still seeing a hayshed for a stand in Tuam is a disgrace. It should be the main stadium in Galway.

Great start to second half for Mayo. Deficit wiped out already. Big breeze with them. Super goal too. Game on.

Shane Walsh used kick frees off the ground from left or right foot from that distance. Now Tierney steps up and butchers it. Galway in trouble

Great goal by McBride, came at pace and finished brilliantly. Aidan O'Shea in where he should be all the time giving the final pass.

Some turn around from Mayo - and Comer off for Galway, plus Walsh struggling,

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

    Galway haven't scored since halftime.

That Galway point looked wide to me. Their first score in 25 minutes.

A lot of dumb stuff from Galway. Can't be blaming crap hand passing on the wind.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,313 ✭✭✭waynescales1

This is woeful from Galway, 1 point in 27 minutes of play. Multiple opportunities to shoot from distance turned down there and then they lose possession trying to be too intricate.

Galway would be level now if they weren't trying to force a goal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,742 ✭✭✭dirtyden

Seems to be an aversion to kicking at goal from Galway forwards unless it’s an absolute sure thing. No one taking responsibility.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,429 ✭✭✭tanko

When Shane Walsh is firing blanks and Comer is kept quiet they struggle for scores, could still go either way yet tho.

Very very open championship neither of these are solid couple of great players between them but not great teams. Kerry not exactly looking like defending champs and who knows what kinda Dublin team are gonna turn up. Could be scalp or two from the not very pretty but structured northern teams coming.

At this rate the Galway fans will want Walsh to stay in Dublin for good. Awful match he is having.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Can't believe how much hes dropped off compared to the levels he was hitting last season. Think the hype got to him a bit think he would of been better off playing his football in Galway for starters.
