In what world do 31 counties want Galway to win tomorrow?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,490 ✭✭✭✭km79

    I made 3 points.

    All are perfectly valid.

Not sure what the issue with the post is.

Wouldn't be much between the Rebels and the Rossies. When you look at it player by player. A combined side between the two of them would be very mixed IMO. I think Roscommon are heading in the right direction overall league etc.

As a neutral I think it is good to see Cork coming good for change. a real sleeping giant in football.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Fair play to Cork. Delighted for them. Great to see them capitalise on the win against Mayo. They've some good footballers there. That win will be good for the confidence. A Cork team with confidence is always a dangerous thing.

I was sorry to see Roscommon beaten today , it’s always good to see Connaught doing well , but I’m sorry 31 counties cheering on Galway? Come on now

Not a mission that is happening. Would love to see Mayo get an AI.

If Galway beat them that’s fair enough too.

i hope jerome henry got a mention tonight ,the worst in the country by a mile a joke of a ref ,

kildare and monaghan left the field today baffled , it must be great to have contacts , its the only reason hes getting these games

He's an absolute joke, he's so far out of his depth I'd say he can see the titanic

One of the absolute worst displays I've seen in a long, long time and that's saying something. Standard of refereeing in the game across the board is really bad right now, needs to be looked at. Refs who don't understand the rules or don't know how to enforce them, not helped by a rulebook that leaves a lot of big decisions up to vague interpretation.

I highly doubt the mayo chamoionship is hampered by this crap , hes usless

Cork have really turned things around since that defeat to Clare. We beat Mayo who have been the countrys second best team over the last decade, and that Roscommon team we beat are a division one team who drew with Dublin. It'll be one of Dublin, Armagh and Derry the next day.

Dublin aren't as good as they once were imo but they would still be favourites obviously, and Armagh or Derry would be a tough game as well. I'd be hopeful that we can have a right cut off whoever we get though. A semi final appearance really would be bonus territory for us i think. This championship is the most open in years, so who knows what will happen.

Great win for Cork after a poor league and getting beaten by Clare. I didn't expect them to win yesterday tbh. Rossies must be sickened, two 1 point losses on the bounce

I think the 4 group winners will win next weekend though, Mayo/Galway maybe the best chance of upsetting that imo

Out of curiosity when was the last time Galway eliminated Mayo from the championship ?

I know Mayo eliminated Galway in 2021 and 2019, but I reckon the last time Galway did it to Mayo must have been 1998.

Just listening to Sunday sport on RTE, Meath v Antrim, Ger Canning and Deirdre Masterson, l thought it was Katie Taylor, no stop for breath, long monotone sentences, is this form of speaking a “thing” with these sports women

`No different to Michael Duignan and Lee Keegan in that respect so....

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

4 changes from Mayo - Loftus, Ruane, Swannie & Carr out; Eoghan mc, Kevin mc, Jason Doc & Tommy C in

Galway switching Ian Burke for Armstrong (a defender)

I thought this was a sellout? Lots of empty seats in the stand.

    Some wind!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,405 ✭✭✭munster87

Shane Walsh should be kicking from everywhere in this first half with the strength of that breeze

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,219 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

Capacity reduced from 34 k to 26 back in 2011, Slattery report. Capacity nowadays is less about how many people a stadium can hold, than about how many people you can move in and more importantly move out of the ground in a fast and controlled manner.

Galway slow to start, 2 bad misses by Walsh already.

If Mayo lose this, there will be serious questions asked about the management and what they've been at all year, many of the plans they have hung their hats on all year thrown out the window today, ans now ending up with Jason Doherty at 3 marking Comer?? WTF?

Meath looking good against Antrim. Looks like there’s an ok crowd at croker.

How do meath fans feel about his things have gone since going out of Sam?

Nice breeze favouring Galway in first half. Worth a few points. Galway would want a 5 or 6 point ht lead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,783 ✭✭✭robbiezero

Looks like they will have at least that. Crucifying the Mayo kick out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,498 ✭✭✭✭namloc1980

Shane Walsh with some poor wides so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,591 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

    Woeful miss from Shane Walsh

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,169 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

What is Walsh doing? That is unacceptable

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,037 ✭✭✭YabaDabaDooley

Shane Walsh kicking two very poor wides with the wind behind him. You'd rarely if ever see the likes of Dean Rock in his pomp or Clifford miss one of them in a full championship season. Needs to sort that out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,405 ✭✭✭munster87

Walsh has so many games where he should be doing better in fairness.

If Mayo get through this, that keeper will need to improve in pressure situations, poor against Cork when things got tough as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,237 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Is it concentration or pressure? Maybe Galway should take Walsh off frees? To give him a bit of break.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Could be a tasty finish to meath v Antrim. 2 points in it, 6 mins to go.
