Looking forward to today's promo - will Joe be able to bite his lip or will he go down the route of eulogising "Public service broadcasting" ?

At this stage I wonder if you stopped paying your tv licence would anyone even notice?

It's like the Berlin wall coming down now.

You are a khaki coloured bombardier, it's Hiroshima that you're nearing.

Hecklers - you have just over an hour to get to Belfast. Show Joe Duffy the dangers of live radio!

I think FF is next Friday, I listened back to Monday's show and he mentioned it as next week. Not sure which would be better given the RTE goings on 😁.

Joe could do with a trip to the moral hearing aid shop to fix the auld moral tone deafness. Sez he has a cawlur who's a hard working tax payer with a whats an app and your man says he's on the welfare.

Anyway, all of this and more from 1:45 as Joe sits on the fence on the issue of hidden payments made by RTÉ to Ryan Tubridy.

In light of the events of this week is Funny Friday next week in the titantic hotel in Belfast not maybe in poor taste?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,579 ✭✭✭leath_dub

Far more comedy potential today, though.

No way Joe will stay balanced here - sure to lose the rag, I'd say

It's murky as Joe's daily subsidised coddle (burp!)

March 2023 - Minister for Sammy Sausages is informed of shennanigans with Tubridy's paypacket

March 2023 - Tubridy declares he's giving up the LLS outta the blue

June 2023 w/c 19th - DG Forbes has her leaving drinkies

June 21st 2023 - DG Forbes is suspended

June 22nd - Slithery shennanigans involving Tubridy, Forbes and public money revealed at RTE

    SCANDAL-SCANNAIL!

In fairness, Joe is taking one for the team.

Many of you said he would never cover it - well he is. This shows that Joe is an empowering force so to speak, and will be a champion of the public.

Given his high standards in public office, relatively low compensation/hour (less than 1000 per show), Joe is shining as a bastion here. It will be Joe that saves RTE now.

I am sure on personal level very disappointing for Joe.

There is potential here for one of the all time great Livelines.

Up there with the time the Rubberbandits and Willie O' Dea rang in 2010.

Hopefully de bad line button is at the menders for it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,339 ✭✭✭✭LambshankRedemption

I predict he will pick a super mundane subject. Maybe Riley Helpless Grapevine could text in, and act as a sort of trojan horse. In the first breathe talk about the mundane topic, and in the second breathe ask a cutting question. "Did you know about this Joe?" "You dont have a similar arrangement yourself, Joe?", etc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,699 ✭✭✭thecretinhop

Joe will lose it 5 times I predict

    1 you can't say dat

    2 how dare you!

3 hang on hang on hang on x 23

4 I'm not taking guff from you

5 I'm not going to the high court for you!

I wonder what the odds are on Tubridy back at the microphone on Monday (or ever)
