Has anyone cut down a Bloc Blind to make it smaller? I have one that won't fit any of the windows where I currently live.

We live in a brick built bungalow house. Have Ikea blinds fitted on the inside of the window lintel area but there is a slight gap between the window frame and the blind. How close can you drill to the window frame without damaging the plaster?

Other option is we replace the blind with a larger one that fits above the lintel and goes over the whole window opening.

Have a kid so want to avoid having curtains if we can.

Bloc blinds do totally blackout blinds. They come with side panels. I get that you don't want to spend on new blinds but have a look at the website. You will see how they do it & what you are missing. I'd imagine celuplast would be able to provide you with side panels.

After that maybe calk or silicon to cover the tiny bit the side panels let in

You can't open windows when those blinds are closed.

Why not? I have bloc blinds in several rooms and some of the windows are open all day. Granted on a very windy day the wind will blow the blinds. Having said that on windy days I'd only want the windows on the latch

The ones that go inside the window frame get popped out of the retaining fitting/side panel thingy easily in wind. We have them in our bedroom and its a pain. On smaller windows that might not be such an issue as the bigger blinds have more leverage when blown.

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/

We get wider blinds and fit outside the window frame under the curtain rail. Blocks pit more light but some deffo still leaks out. Add curtains too and helps a lot.

Just check u leave enough space below the curtain for the blind to roll up.
