Can I do a PLC as a mature student if I failed my leaving cert?

I was just wondering if you happen to fail your leaving cert but you plan on doing a PLC course after working to gain money till your a mature student, does your points and how you did in the leaving cert count towards getting into one?, or does it become void, do you not need points? I appreciate the feedback I just wanna be more reassured x

With my luck I really hope somone replys 😭

My neighbours son got a job after his LC because he didn't have enough points for the course he wanted. A few years later he applied to DIT (now TU) as a mature student. He had to do an exam. He got a place on the course he wanted, finished the degree, did a masters and now works in a job he loves. Some info here:

Thank you so much for the links! I'll definitely look into them more to see what they have related to what I'm looking for. The only down side is the career I'm looking into barely has any courses available (librarianship) so there's a few PLC courses one in particular which would be amazing to get into, so I hope points don't matter for mature students
