Everton deserve to be relegated, especially so if they can't beat Bournemouth at home(and Leicester remain in the lead), who have been on holiday for the past month, lost their last 3 matches and are playing some of their fringe players.

Edit: Just as I posted, Everton take the lead. Boo!

It takes longer to post a few sentences than a few words. Leicester 2-0 up now. Everton lucky they're playing a team that don't care.

Time to fire Dyche and bring back Frank again to improve playing style.

    Right?

Just waiting now for the memes of City’s title celebrations compared to Everton’s 17th place celebrations.

City on 89 points sort of confirms a sentiment I have always had that total points in a season means f**k all. Is this one of the worst city teams to win the league as their points tally would suggest? Is this the strongest league they’ve played in When winning a league? That’s a nope to both the points.

They wouldn’t be the first team to ease up or drop silly points when the league was being won at a canter. It’s not just happened in the last 10 years, plenty of seasons when champions dropped silly points , particularly when there wasn’t a big threat.

Leeds and Leicester might well bringing the lawyers off the bench. Could be a long, hot summer for the EPL top brass between City and Everton.

Everton so lucky they got a referee who was poor beyond belief.

The gamesmanship from Pickford, Mina, Tarkowski, etc. plus the fouls from Onana, nothing punished bar a yellow so obvious it would have looked like he was on their books if he hadn't given it. He booked two Bournemouth players in the same incident, but Mina off leading with head on loads of occasions.

Everton's reward is to see if their players can play like they did for the last few months, for an entire season. Lucky they're not paid by performance. They got half their points in their last 15 games.

One plus for them - Garner looks quality, never seemed to feel the pressure at all. A bargain buy.

They were lucky that this season there were 3 way more abject sides in the league. The last time that 36 points wasn't enough to keep you up, was when Leicester City won the title. I can't see themselves or Leeds coming back up next season though. Leicester will see all their talented players getting bought, and the world and his mother knows that Leeds don't really have any. Gnonto, probably, but he's back to off to Italy by all accounts. Its rebuild, reset, and look forward to your win column going into double figures.

With 30 manager changes (including caretaker) in the Championship, not counting the 4 end of season ones, you'd nearly want to have 2 managers lined up.

The lawyers are coming for Everton, but they were able to push any decisions like points deductions into next season. By all accounts any punishments would actually be financial only, no real fear of points being taken off and starting on -9 or something. Burnley are also involved because of their relegation last season.

Big Sam earned 1pt from a possible 12.

Hopefully that's the last we'll see of him.

Even Lampard bettered him with 4pts from a possible 24!

    Lampard to Leeds ?

Honestly though, Lampard should go back to managing in the Championship. He's just not cut out for the Premier league yet

If the new owners want to be hated from the start, that'd be a good way to do it. I'd imagine they would have ambitions of getting promoted, no point throwing that in the bin from day 1

    What do you mean?

City were better in the seasons Liverpool pushed them to 90+ points, it wasn't meaningless?

Just watching Villa-Brighton on Sky - more excellent refereeing.

Brighton get a free-kick which McAllister takes quickly to Ferguson, who is in for 1-1, but referee says Villa weren't 10 yards back, so its a re-take. Brighton go to re-take but Villa still aren't back so Brighton go short, McAllister gets caught in possession by McGinn and its 2-0. You can see the players aren't back 10m because it all happens in the centre circle. Can't see a reason why the referee took back the original free, if he was going to not blow for the same thing 30 seconds later. Maybe he didn't want to see Ferguson get cut in half by Martinez. Ferguson actually got MOTM on the BBC, Sky gave him 5/10!

It worked out well for Sambo. Half a mill for a few weeks work. That'll buy a few pints of wine.
