It’s really strange to see De Zerbi get a manager of the year nomination ahead of Ten Hag, especially after what De Zerbi has done tonight.

Brighton look a lot stronger with those 3 subs.

Game could get very interesting in the last 30.

and watch newcastle slow down the game like joelinton right now

However, the FA said the comments were a "particularly serious example of misconduct" and it was "disturbed by the very aggressive nature" of Klopp's behaviour towards fourth official John Brooks.

    It wasn't just the comments.

Caicedo has no interest in playing tonight.

Lads Newcastle are shocking at wasting time. What can actually be done about this? It's getting bad for most teams but Newcastle turn my stomach with it

Stop the clock when the ball is dead, reduce the game time and you would get rid of most of the time wasting as there would be no point to it

..more fun if after x seconds the other team get the throw-in, free kick....feck it...a slow goal-kick is punished by giving a corner to attacking team.

The Dutch lad for Brighton lying down injured in the Newcastle box whilst his team attack with 2 minutes to go, jesus he'd want to be seriously **** injured.

    and its 4-1 now

Its not really. Getting Brighton to 6th is far more impressive than getting United to 4th.

Typical old tactics of fighting the investigation not the allegations.

Get off on the technicality like the common criminal courts scumbags.

You are mistaken but that's not your fault. You are quoting a story from a media outlet rather than the statement from the body that issued the suspension.

Jurgen Klopp has been suspended from the touchline for two matches and fined £75,000 following media comments that he made after Liverpool’s Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 30 April 2023.

The first match of the manager’s touchline ban is effective immediately and the second is suspended until the end of the 2023/24 season on the condition that he does not commit any further breaches of FA Rule E3 in the meantime.

Jurgen Klopp admitted that his comments regarding the match referee during post-match media interviews constitute improper conduct as they imply bias, question the integrity of the referee, are personal, offensive, and bring the game into disrepute.

Be interesting to see what calibre of players Newcastle can attract this summer now that Champions league football seems nailed on for them next season

They’ll have their pick of the mercenaries alright, fair play to them. Pity for Zlatan he’s not 10 years younger.

I'd say Kieran Tierney will move to Newcastle anyways. Lost his Arsenal place and can move closer to home. Upgrade on Burn. Suits all parties.

I've seen some links to Dominik Szoboszlai (yes I had to Google how to spell his name correctly) but he loves to score crackers of goals, for a couple of the red bull clubs.

They won a trophy and improved from 9th to 3rd/4th place? FA Cup final to come. Why would RDZ get nominated? Two hammerings in 10 days and they may try finish 8th? Is there not a bit of fawning over DZ? Picked the wrong team last night, that’s for sure.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,791 ✭✭✭McFly85

It’s the PL manager of the season so cups don’t come into it, and like the player of the season, the nominations are really based on the first 3/4 of the season.

And obviously he should be on the shortlist, Brighton have been a joy to watch for most of the season, so what if there’s been a couple of heavy losses - Ten Hag has had some heavy losses himself too.

Ten Hag has done alright in the PL but when you consider the relative strength of both clubs DZ is the standout imo.

I don't think anyone could argue that Ten Hag has done anything more than an ok job considering the squad and resources available.

No Manchester United manager should be nominated after losing 7 nil to their arch rivals I'm sorry. Especially not one whose team are limping into 4th position.

    Fun Friday Fact:

If Man City win every single game next season and pick up maximum points available (114), it will still be a lower amount than the number of charges being brought against them currently by the Premier League (115).

Gary o Neil has performed better as a manager this season than ETH.

Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem are goin to be investigated by the Dutch FA, for illegal funding by Roman Abramovic while he was owner of Chelsea. A number of Chelsea youth players played there for a number of years, while he denies all interest and links to the Dutch club.

    yep.

Weghorst leading the line for half the season. De Gea in goals. Every other manager could only be so lucky.

Always wonder when people make out United have a great squad, how many of their players would they take at their club?

Who is taking DDG, AWB, Dalot, Maguire, McTominay, Fred, Sancho, Van Der Beek, Martial, Weghorst as vitally important players at their club? And given Ive not mentioned Martinez, Varane, Shaw, Casemiro, Bruno or Rashford, who are all regularly criticised as overrated, average players whose performances are being over hyped.... its a strange conflict between United should be challenging for the title and Unite have a bunch of rubbish players who ae only hyped up cause they play for United.

Is it just non United fans trying to make a thing about Ten Hag and the manager of the year award? I havent heard a single MUCF fan say they think he deserves it.

That said, as a MUFC fan, I'm very happy with what Ten Hag has achieved this year. One trophy, another final, 2 wins away from securing Champions League football. It's disappointing that the team didnt go further in the Europa League. But injuries have played a big part in the drop in form in recent months. Hopefully the budget will be available in the summer to strengthen, because the squad just doesnt have enough quality depth at the moment.

As for the manager of the season, for me Emery deserves the award for the transformation he's done a Villa.
