Does anyone know of an accepted alternative to septic tank - Living in County Leitrim and interested in a very derelict house no septic tank - Wondering about alternatives such as reed bed system or composting toilets - Thank you

I would love to know as well. Doesn't need to be composting but open to anything that doesn't require an electric blower to be running

I think your starting point has to be a proper site assessment - the system you adopt or which may work on your site is wholly dependent on the results of the site assessment, including drainage characteristics of the soil / subsoil.
