Dexcom app and compatible phones

I am hoping to get the Dexon blood monitor for diabetes. I cannot get a definite answer as to what phone will install and use the G6 app. Has anyone got this gadget inserted and if so can you recommend a smart phone that is compatible. I cannot get positive answers and neither can I try every phone in shop.

Dexcom app itself has very limited compatibility. The app .APK is locked to only install on Dexcom approved hardware.

The easiest way to deal with that is either to use the "build your own Dexcom app" service

Hi, did you ever get a compatible phone in the end? I just got some sensors as I want to try out the G6 to see what it's like but my own phone is not compatible and the list is mind boggling! I just want a cheap phone that will work with the App as a trial.

I did check out that site for build your own Dexcom App but it only goes up to Android 9 and my phone is 12.
