Yeah,, pit queue are mostly gone through, still time possibly to get the tail end but when the gates open, you should be able to get a band, no bother.

Just got in and got a wristband no bother. Joined the queue at 4:30

Bit of a delay getting in because the scanners can't scan if it's too bright....... Irish promoters ability to miss an open goal will never not be tragic.

Queue to get in now is a shambles. Inching along. Some moving ray half the pace of others

Really enjoyed it. However the pit was kinda hilarious. We arrived just after they finished giving them out so instead were near the rail.

Loads of ppl around us with passes…..no fencing idea what they were for as they assumed it was their “pitch ID”

also met ppl in drinks queue who also hadn’t a notion. But great gig! Now to sit down! 7.20 to 10.20 and fab weather to boot

Arrived at 3:45 and just missed Simmonscourt entry. Told to go to Merrion road.

Parched so stopped for a pint at the Clayton. Joined q 4:10.

In the arena 4:45, wristband applied at entry. All very smooth.

12ish back from front. Dead centre.

Is it still all rockshore drinks @€7.50 ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,079 ✭✭✭flasher0030

Queues got mad later on. Took ages to get in. Then queues for a pimt were crazy. Missed the first few tunes. The stewards were ushering everyone to the back of the stadium to get entry on to the pitch. Led to more congestion. Overall it was ok, but could have been more efficiently organized, Seemed to be just queues upon queues for the first hour of the gig.

Had Guinness, wine, Gin, Smirnoff etc, But ya Rockshore was the main seller. 7.50 a pop. I thought that was bad till I queued up for a little can of gin and tonic. Over €10 a pop. Still didnt stop me buying a couple of them. 😒😔

Got a bus up from Sligo, it was late and then got delayed in Carrick on Shannon for half an hour, didn't start queuing till half five, got in around ten to six, got a wristband, as alluded to above wasn't sure if it was for the pit or they were giving them to everyone, thought all the pit passes would have been gone at that stage.

The pit didn't seem full at all, saw David McCullagh from RTE having the time of his life near me.

Saw some nice t-shirts, was going to get one, but 50 euro was taking the piss, as if the 140 odd to get in wasn't enough gouging, spring rolls were nice though.

Perfect weather, no rain and warm, not that suffocating heat either.

Was a great gig, the whole band were just fantastic, The Promised Land, Johnny 99, Land of Hope and Dreams and Because the Night were the highlights, loved Nightshift too and the acoustic version of Last Man Standing was great too, and he'd some nice words about his ex bandmate.

The amount of inane yapping from clowns around me nearly drove me insane at times, still great gig, hope he might be back in a year or two.

The last three paragraphs in a nutshell. It was very good gig, Nightshift was a particular highlight as it would not have been on my radar too much. From that in to Mary's Place was brilliant.

Audio was a bit over the place at times though.

It was the 2nd worst gig I've been at for people yapping. Thought the pit might have been much better but sounds it wasn't. Moved to the very back of the pitch for last hour, so a little better.

C*nts can do whatever they want at gigs, but should not to the detriment of my enjoyment.

Leaving the venue was a little bit of a shitshow as well at one exit.

Did anyone head up early and get a pit wristband? If so was Simmonscourt the place to loiter around? Planning on getting up to Dublin around 10am? Hoping for a wristband and being told to come back once we get it…was this anyone’s experience?
