Riv nuts

I have a box of different sized riv nuts. I rarely use them. I don't have the correct tool to fit them. I've been getting by by just using a bolt and nut to tighten them in place. Recently I was fitting a 5mm one. I just managed to get it tightened at the same time that the nut and bolt stripped the threads.

Does anyone know of a hardened bolt/screw and nut that I could keep in the box for future use?

Some would be adverse to spending money on tools but not me. The cheapest tool for this is under €25 on Amazon (if you have Prime) so I'd just buy the tool.

Although I suspect I'd spend a bit more as I know that it can be hard work with the cheaper ones.

If all you really want is a bolt (assuming metric) then next time you need one check the head marking is 109 or 10.9 which is about the strongest you can easily get hold of.
