When playing in Reading their nickname was the not nots. Not from London and not Irish. The days at least the London part of their name is true.

That's the captain and leader of a team who just lost 7-0. He sets the example. Maybe a defining reason why they lost 7-0 with his mindset. Bruno was lazy in his workrate and lost his head as the goals started rolling in. His petulance carried through on other players and players like Shaw started acting up fouling people etc then too. We saw that last season too with that Hannibal lad fouling someone for the sake of it and Gary Neville cheerleading it on Sky.

These acts of petulance have been very common in recent games. Bruno got booked in both games last season for needless fouls while being hammered 4-0 in both at the time. Ronaldo's childish kick-out and booking against a kid. Bruno was booked for diving in the game at OT this season and acted like a spoilt child when Salah scored trying to hide the ball and then was faking injury again when Salah got the ball off of him. Man Utd could have got a penalty if Bruno didn't dive at 3-0 too which should have seen him yellow carded again.

To be fair, the manager can also be blamed for selecting him to play LW. Bruno didn't do half enough work and as a result Trent, Elliott & Salah had the run of that side of the pitch. A large contribution to another hammering. Long may these acts of petulance continue in these games as we know what happens afterwards.

Yep that would be it. In fairness they actually do have a few Irish players at the moment as well.

The Brentford owner had an interesting interview on Guardian Football Weekly a few years ago where he talks about prioritizing the B-team over the more restrictive academy system which turned out to be very beneficial.

I'm far from being a Bruno fan but the shite that's being posted here about a tap on the back of the linesman is laughable. He barley touched him. Imagine if he took a bite out him...

I don't have much of a problem with Bruno not being punished at the time - but certainly deserved a talking to from the lino or ref, and maybe a bit of a fine or something now, just to show "this is unacceptable".

Though it was mild, it was still very obviously an aggressive action towards an official, rather than the casual carefree thing some seem to be suggesting it was (which i'm pretty surprised by, cause, like, literally just look at him...). Literally every aspect of Bruno's body language in those moments was incredibly wound up. Like, if you were to caption it, it'd read "get outa my fückin' way".

Arsenal have somehow gotten a few fines for surrounding the ref, different rules for Bruno Fernandes obviously, horrible player to watch. Interesting to see some people downplay it, I was under the impression pushing an official was universally considered to be beyond the pale.

Looking like they'll be fined for celebrating a goal now too, whatever stick the FA have up their arse about it.

Kyle Walker may be in trouble, exposing himself and harrassing a few women.

Didn't think many footballers went on the lash anymore, not least til end of season/after cup finals

I haven't seen anyone report that he was "harassing" the women.

Read that the women were unknown to him, getting your lad out and trying to kiss them would probably constitute harassment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,507 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

Not if they said kiss me and get your lad out.

Not saying it's not the case but I didn't see that reported anywhere. It does say in reports "he exposed himself in full view of patrons" which is obviously a crime but no one is reporting the two women in his company were unwilling participants and he did enter the bar with one so he didn't just accost random strangers.

Exposing yourself in public is harassment.

The woman grinding her arse on his pecker doesn’t seem to be too harassed 🤷‍♂️

on a serious note it is likely just clickbait unless charges have been brought against him

    The internet isn’t for everyone

I could be wrong but I don't think Arteta entered the field of play. I know there's a clip of him walking along the sideline while everyone else seems to be in there.

Imagine calling for someone to be fined for celebrating a win. Kinda sad

Match wasn't over so they couldn't be celebrating a win

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 58,485 ✭✭✭✭Necro

Grand, never happens though. And on one hand you have the FA 'investigating' it and on the other hand the Premier League actively promoting the celebrations.

    The celebration police indeed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,507 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

That bugs me about the sideline. They are supposed to stay in their box and not cause hassle but then when the celebrity managers are involved half the match cameras are covering them.

We're still in a situation where those celebrations are worthy of punishment but Bruno Fernandes pushing an official is not

Van Dijk not being sent off there is everything that is wrong with modern refereeing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 990 ✭✭✭earthwormjack

Not sure how van Dyke got away with trying to wrestle Solanke to the ground in full view of the ref towards the end of that half.

Bournemouth fully deserve the lead at half time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,144 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Referees terrified these days to be seen as having had an imprint on the game. Allows players to cheat just enough where it won't reach the threshold of blatant, the point where the referee can't be seen to not give it. Its so poor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,755 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

    Clear penalty in fairness.

Surprised VVD isn't getting hammered for his role in the Bournemouth goal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 258 ✭✭It is a Dunne Deal

That was a horrible peno haha

That’s a complete hammer blow for Liverpool’s hopes of top 4. City, Arsenal and Chelsea in their next 3 league games. What was Salah at….

Back to normality it would seem.

The hiding for Utd could end up being a good catalyst for Utd.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,381 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Liverpool are committed to relegating Everton anyways - Liverpool keep losing to Everton's relegation rivals.
