I will start with this Prius below,

Standard colour or not?

I seen a lovely lime green Mitsubishi Miraz earlier in the day as well. Should have took a picture but did not :(

😁My current car is Desire Red Seat Leon, and my last car was a Race Blue Octavia....

Both unique in today's world or white, grey, silver and black pandemic of car colours 😁😂

I've actually seen some new cars where these are the only options available....well maybe a brown thrown in also..for example the new 308 SW you cannot get the green or the dark blue...what's that about...red is the only bright/bold option.

Not the most unique I know but it is very rare. There is a Yellow DS3 around these parts and even the Citroen Chevron on the alloys is Yellow. I thought at first they must not be standard alloys but upon closer luck they are.

Will get a picture the next time I see it.

That must have been used to get rid of the left over panels because they made more than they sold. Is that right lol. Really do not my first time seeing this but really who thought it was a good idea? It looks a mess.

I think a car could be made multicoloured but better than this.

It's my understanding that the Dutch VW importer (but maybe they did it in other countries too, as this specimen has white license plates, unless it has been imported from the Netherlands) would just get four standard Polos in four different colours (red, yellow, green and purple), disassemble all the panels that can be bolted off (so doors, hood, bootlid, front fenders and bumpers) and mix them around.

Regarding the race blue Octavias: I see this colour quite a bit on (also other) Skodas. But it is a nice colour, me and my wife agree, which is why we bought one of those as well 😀

Saab 95 in Glacier Blue. Have seen one of these in the flesh (not this one) and it's absolutely stunning. Factory colour too.

MG Rover used to a few in that type of paint for their Monogram cars. They had a very advanced paint shop at the time.

I remember many moons ago l, I guzzled down a load of vodka straight and I puked up the lining of my stomach.

It was this colour and glowed in the dark.

i saw a 5 series the other day in what cyclists would refer to as (bianchi) celeste; i don't have a photo of the car, but this is it on a bike. certainly caught the eye.

I remember a 1990's Hyundai Accent in a fluorescent red, similar to Rentokill vans.

MDL (The VW Importers for Ireland at the time) imported a number of them in to Ireland in 1996 and at least one was registered as demonstrator as Tom Murphy Car sales in Waterford registered one -reg no: 96-W-1175. This can be confirmed as it had a "starring" role in the video for Richie Kavanagh's (don't laugh!) song 'The car salesman'. I didn't do a full history check, but on a basic Motorcheck it states the cars colour as 'multicoloured' and on the NCT site it shows that the NCT is due in the future, so hopefully it is still alive.

Did some googling and apparently they were sold in the UK as well. I also come across German ads. It's surprisingly different to find pictures of Harlequins that were originally sold in Dutch. One that was imported in 2014 is registered with the colour 'various' and another one, imported in 2019, with the colours red and yellow. The RDW, which is the Dutch authority for car registrations, doesn't list more than two colours, I think they might have discontinued the use of 'various'. It is interesting that they went with red and yellow for the 2019 import, because the fixed part of the car (the sills and the C-pillar) are purple, I would have thought they would at least include that. Unless purple is discontinued too for registration purposes, I know pink is (this is agreed on a EU level, which colours to use in car registration and which not).
