I've just seen the clip of Ammi getting thrown out on her arse on the news.

Haven't laughed so much in weeks.

They could be living on the father's pension plus other bits and pieces of bookshop etc. If there is no mortgage on the house they could just about do it. Of course if they keep destroying their good clothes by getting themselves manhandled onto pavements that could make things a bit more difficult.

Any case involving a child is in camera. Not just abuse. Guardianship, access, maintenance etc The way it should be. I’m always shocked when I come across family law cases on YouTube from the states with everything on video for the world to see discussing sensitive matters relating to the children and their marriage!

I think we're really heading into the unprecedented here. I am not aware of any situation in the past where someone has treated the courts like this and it's fairly clear the courts aren't quite sure how to respond.

None of the normal responses have worked, and it really does not look like they are going to respect the court or its jurisdiction.

I don't know how courts have dealt with this kind of thing in other jurisdictions. I'm not really aware of anything quite like this in Ireland, but if you consider that the functioning of the judicial system is fundamental to how this society functions, this is really stepping into the realm of the utterly bizarre.

I'm a bit surprised tbh that the courts are not responding to what is basically a group of people making a complete mockery of the whole system of justice.

Whacker and his mates are watching with interest for their next move in Cloverhill District Court.

I realise the reasons for being in court are different, but still, home school lessons could be learned.

My sympathies! We were subjected to ABBA blasting on the stereo! 😂 Nowadays if I’m driving my mom somewhere, she’ll tell me to turn the music off! After all those years mom?!! Really?! I still know all the words. Brainwashed I tell ya 😫😂😂

Me too. Comedy gold. She nearly broke her ankle there when she took a tumble in her high heels.

Hire Drag Queens to shadow the Burkes and surround the Burke Compound in Castlebar? Try to siege them inside. Lob in some glitter bombs etc.

Ask a few zookeepers how they handle unruly animals?

Have to start getting creative as no sane option will work on them.

Is the father actually retired? He certainly won't get much work done, driving Enoch that distance every weekday.

There may be some other parents paying for their kids to go to Mammy's school.

Always felt Issac was a wimp! I'd say you'd want one of those horse tranquillisers to bring down the mamma!

In Burke world, if shouting at the Judges doesn't work, you need more shouting from more people.

Where's the thread Someone Unusual You Fancy.

    Ahem..... all embarrassed.......... Ammi Burke.

First off.. Called it, it was Simeon that got charged.

And secondly, if evidence was even needed at this stage, his refusal of the option to be released on Bail just confirms that this is all just a performance and an attempt to claim some kind of twisted martyrdom to their "Righteousness".

    Just pathetic.

She was wobbly to begin with when the Gardai were bringing her out. I don't think she dived. I just think her sexy ankles and high heels weren't able for the cobble stones.

Tomorrow they should show up at the court with some ‘Down with that sort of thing’ and ‘Careful now’ placards.

well I don't fancy any of them but in a weird way I kinda admire their independent way of thinking, their stoicism, their standing up to the system, their sheer doggedness in the face of the Law. Would any of us be able to do that? They are not like your average scumbag and toerag who curse, swear, F and Blind their way out of the courthouse smirking at cameras, giving the middle finger as they are led out in handcuffs.

The Burkes are on another level of self rightousness. They are quite an interesting and unusual bunch of people. I admire their courage.

It confirms he wasn't qualified to handle box operations aswell as Isaac. Hence he gets the jail again.

I don't think you know what stoicism is.

Is it their shaming of a person's gender identity or their disregard for the rule of law that you admire most?

They are committed to the cause, that's for sure. Mad as a box of frogs, but certainly not the type to give way.

They'd achieve much more though if they copped on and behaved in a civilised way. Enoch would have gotten his injunction against the potentially flawed disciplinary procedure back in January if he played by the rules and agreed to stay away from the school.

I'm certainly not afraid to go against the grain but I'm in a totally different box of frogs to those guys.

They would be an interesting sociological case study alright.

    "Into the Mayo Mist"

    Attenbrough could narrate their travels.

About the only difference is that they don't curse. I mean each to their own, if you think unrepentant scofflaws are admirable you do you. I find them reprehensible. They aren't standing up to the system, they just aren't willing to admit that it has any authority over them. They're just a bunch of reprobates.

Even though Daddy sits behind the steering wheel, it's pretty clear that Mammy is the driver in that family.

You might have had schizophrenia once so being trans is socially contagious and split personality 🤣

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
