They said nothing. Until Yesterday. St Davids Day. Wales. Prince and Princess of Wales. Coincidence I'm sure.

Or I guess it's Camilla, the PR obsessed villain, who leaked it to her pals so as to overshadow her step son and his wife. Because Camilla bad. Or something.

    Is that Diana's driver?

They look insane. Everyone knows that they arranged for those photographers to be there - 1,2,3 and grin like a maniac.

And the recreation of that photo, if that was deliberate they are both beyond insane,

Exactly. You'd hope it isn't deliberate because wtf otherwise. The framing is eerily similar.

So this notice was given almost two months ago but we're only hearing about it now.

Your logic is flawed, 2 months ago would have been the perfect time to drop the news.

No statement at the time from the palace and considering they still made no comment about it then it obviously stems from the Sussexes.

I thought the palace don't make statements?

Either way what are they supposed to say, we are evicting the tenant that actually pays rent and for the upkeep to accommodate the Olympian moocher and national creepy embarrassment Andy.

They've become a paparazzi play thing and sorry but they’ve invited all of this on themselves- they might not have liked the daily mail or the uk press in general but there’s similar muck and paparazzi in the US too

Being harassed by the paps?! I hope they were wearing their seat belts unlike Diana and Dodi.

Nope. The Sun had a 'World Exclusive' on 28 Feb. (For the record, I think the Sun is being sued by Harry at the moment, so I doubt if he is leaking anything to them). https://www.thesun.co.uk/fabulous/21548936/harry-meghan-evicted-frogmore-cottage-king-charles/

A spokesperson for the Sussexs' responded on 1 March.

I still maintain that it was leaked now because no one relevant nowadays wants to perform at Charles's Cornation. They may have to resort to Rod Stewart again.

Sorry, how does everyone know they arranged for those photogrpahers? How do you know.

For the record, since they are going into a really exclusive club where a lot of celebraties hang out, paps would be outside anyway waiting for the famous to come in. Saw the video of them enterting the club (by the way, there are no photos or videos allowed to be taken inside - people's phones are taped up to prevent this) - an awful lot of camera flashing at the entrance. It must bring back nighmares to Harry.

Was he dragged there at gunpoint?

To steal a line from Ian Hislop : "Oh, look, Meghan & Harry, cameras.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,338 ✭✭✭✭jm08

The nightmare is that when Diana lay dying in the back of the car in the tunnel in Paris, you can see the flashes of the camera going off with none of the paps trying to help her.

I suppose if you are Harry its impossible to avoid the cameras. Interesting that they went to a place in LA where no cameras are allowed, so that they can have some reprieve from the relentless intrusion of the press.

Once you see that the agency is Backgrid you know that it was arranged, they are well known for it. And this club is famous for having zero tolerance on photographers, but these ones almost follow the beaming couple inside. Add to that the filthy weather. Don’t be so naïve, here’s an article that explains agencies like Backgrid work.

So there would be no paparazzi hanging outside Hollywood's most exclusive private club?

They had to bring their own?

    Absolute nonsense.

I really don't know why the focus from some posters on here (not you) are trying to highlight the state of the nation for the UK citizens against the royal family.

The UK citizens should be on the streets against their politicians who are directly responsible for the UK economy.

I'll link to sky news as others do not like the daily mail but when speaking about the cost of living crisis in the UK Tory Environmental Secretary said that UK citizens need to just work longer and make more money!

The modern day "let them eat cake"!

The crux of the matter, no matter what paper you read, is that clearly, relationships within the Royal family are not good between H&M and the senior Royals. I can’t see them both attending the coronation as a family at this point. I’d say H&M will get an invite but there won’t be a role for them on the day - and I reckon they’ll turn down the offer to attend as a family. Harry might go on his own but it will be jetting in one day and jetting off the following day- that’s it.

Its becoming a very messy world for Charles but then again, he’s been somewhat the architect of this - his fatherly skills were poor, he’s put Camilla above everything else for most of his adult life and he’s repeated similar mistakes made by his own parents.

Pop bands of all things, are afraid to sign up to his coronation concert for fear it will affect their “brand”- there were very few artists that would have turned down the Queen- but then again, there’s very few legendary artists and bands still around- most are dead or just not up to it- if Take That without Robbie are the pinnacle of UK music then should he really be considering a pop concert? Just because the Queen had a few in her time, doesn’t mean it’s a good idea today.

The Tories are finished, they have ruined the country, probably for a generation and will be ran out of governance in the next election.

I really don't know why the focus from some posters on here (not you) are trying to highlight the state of the nation for the UK citizens against the royal family

Really? even Charles recognises the fact that him pontificating about the cost of living crisis whilst riding around in a gold carriage may give off the wrong signals.

Won't stop him throwing his 100 million pound party though, the perception will be horrendous and will be further pounced on by Labour who will be in government next.

The accepted and tolerated institution which was held solely together by Lizzie is gone, what's left isn't great and it will only become increasingly harder for any government let alone Labour to keep justifying the billions in tax payers money spent on entertaining the folly.

Here's the thing - very few of us in the thread are fans of the RF. I'm on record for saying I don't understand the concept of a monarchy at all. It's an outdated, privileged pantomime with archaic protocol.

It's British taxpayers who are paying for the coronation though, so the cost is for them to protest against. It's for the British public to call and vote for the abolition of the monarchy.

That's why we're not out with our pitchforks on a thread about H & M.

"Yeah, but Andrew" isn't relevant either, no one has actually ever defended him, he has been vilified here and in AH.

One can dislike the dastardly duo without championing the rest of the RF. It's alarming that that this needs to repeated so often.

Yeah they are so harassed by the press/paps that Liz Garbus, director of their Netflix docuseries, had to use footage of the Michael Cohen trial/Harry Potter premiere/Katie Price trial and (actually pre-arranged shots) of paps on roof tops to create the impression that they were being hounded. South Park got it right. Most people simply don't care. Certainly not to the level of interest which resulted in the harassment Diana experienced. Try as directors and editors might they resorted to using footage of Diana getting harassed since they were so short on usable Sussex material. If they are actually using BackGrid for photos then it means that Harry is a complete hypocrite (remember how he is triggered by camera flashes and hates the media/photos who he feels killed his mum). Obviously we'll never know since such outlets presumably have non disclosures built in to the service/price as it's leaves room for denials by the celebs who use such a service and it can be explained away as them genuinely getting papped and so they get the benefit of the doubt to that end.

Not the greatest conspiracy theory TBF.

2 of most recognisable people in the world got their picture taken outside the most exclusive club in Hollywood, that's what happened.

South Park got it right. Most people simply don't care

    Not you though.

Oh I'm a conspiracy theorist now? Is the following not logical? It is known that celebrities use BackGrid to arrange photographs. I would say all can agree on that as a fact. Makes complete sense as it keeps them in the media spotlight. Harry and Meghan are celebrities. The published photos of their night out link to BackGrid. The outlet that celebrities use to keep them in the media spotlight. You see where I'm going with this but, sure, I'm a conspiracy theorist. 😂

I don't agree with them having to vacate Frogmore Cottage. It was reportedly a gift from the Queen when they got married and presumably Harry and Meghan owned the deeds to the property but whatever legal tape was involved then that seemingly wasn't the case. They were living there at the pleasure of the monarch (whoever that may be). As such it should have been theirs to do whatever they wanted to do with it. As it was on secure property then it was their UK base. Gifts usually don't come with conditions attached. Of all his grievances then I'd be with him on that one. Reportedly this decision was made within 24 hours of Spare going on sale so if that is true then I think his family are well and truly done with him. Petty but understandable. If a property was given as a gift and subsequently taken away then the Duke and Duchess titles which were also gifted and could also be taken away. Their monogramed stuff will be redundant.

They weren't "gifted" the house and wouldn't have owned it or been on the deeds. They were given permission to live there when it was presumed they would be full time working royals. They aren't anymore and haven't lived there for years. They own a multi million dollar US mansion and live there full time instead. They hardly ever return to the UK. I don't see the issue.

Oh I'm a conspiracy theorist now?

I have no idea if you are or not, but you are most certainly peddling a textbook conspiracy theory.

a theory that rejects the standard explanation for an event and instead credits a covert group or organization with carrying out a secret plot:

Yes seeing now that they were allowed to rent it. They had a lease, which was renewed for 1 year last March. It's expired.
