Second hand price may stabilize for those waiting on a LR. Myself included.

Nobody has contacted me so far.

I don't mind to wait till even June but it is annoying if you have been told Feb/March for delivery and you still don't know the date in March.

We'll see.. Hopefully, it is on this boat :)

    And my hope is gone..

I have to stop thinking about my MYLR delivery earlier than June. I might be surprised.. :)

I'll be refusing my MY White RWD in the next day or so so one more will be available

I called into Sandyford on Saturday.

MY LR - ordered 14th Jan. delivery still showing Feb - March.

    told

’Two thirds of the cars on the ship have been allocated. A lot of people have had their delivery date pushed to April/May. The fact yours hasn’t means you’ll highly likely get a VIN in next couple weeks for late March delivery’

Separately had a call with someone saying what you heard above.

Alarming amount of varying information put out by Tesla themsleves.

Seen a good few articles today stating that comfort suspension was only added to Model Y’s made in Shanghai since 1 Jan. Does that mean anything that arrived on the boat today would not have the upgraded comfort suspension? That boat left end of January - would the cars on that boat likely have been made in December?

I was browsing tesla-info.com website where they have production trends for tesla MY which includes factory gate dates and VINs. So the last data point they have is from 11 Jan and the VIN is 731631. My VIN is 729XXX which is ab 2k off. Doing some back of envelope calculation using VINs from the graph shows that between 19.12 and 11.01 they produced 32453 cars, /23 days = 1411 cars per day (VIN from 699178 to 731631). I would hazard a guess that my car was made after 9 of Jan hence it should have the comfort suspension. Some basic calculation with assumptio of 1400 MY a day shows that you need to have a VIN from say 7165XX to be made from 1st Jan.

    Link is below

According to the VIN I have, and the car was on Hoegh Chiba currently in Zeebrugge, it was produced in 2023. I would assume then that it has the newer comfort suspension. If you have a VIN, you can always just put it through a Tesla VIN decoder to get the information.

The Shanghai Giga produces around 3,000 cars per day, so it only takes two days of production to fill up a ship like Hoegh Chiba. I think we can safely assume the cars were produced this year seeing as they were shipped around the 25th of January.

My order is a MY RWD.

Does Shanghai have a dedicated line producing only RHD MYs or do they reconfigure an LHD line and produce a batch of RHDs?

Are you supposed to be working from home while you're tracking ships and Tesla production figures...?? 🤔🤔🤫

My VIN is 720xxx, so just made it into 2023 aswell.

No wonder you're up so late..

I understood that there was no possibility of the next crop of Y not having the new improved suspension?

i finished paying for the car yesterday so it damn well better have it

I read that Tesla changed the way the Vins were done in 2019. Up until that the reference to the year in the VIN was the actual year of manufacture, after 2019 it changed to the year the car was produced for. That’s why I’m wondering if there’s a chance it was produced in December for the 2023 year meaning it wouldn’t have new suspension. Hopefully not. Is there another way of knowing what year it was manufactured from the VIN with the last few digits?

Rx8 what does the 720XXX indicate? I have the same but thought it was the 10th digit that indicated the year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 952 ✭✭✭Rusky rusky

It indicates a model year, not a production year. I don't think there a definitive way of knowing the exact date car was made w/o checking the stickers in the car. Just guesses with back of envelope calculations with VINs.

I only posted it as a comparison to @Rusky rusky , that my one was a lower number and probably manufactured before his one.

They probably switched to a batch of blue ones for a while and then back to the standard white ones. Who knows..

So they've no idea basically, but didn't want that to appear obvious 🤣

If it doesn't arrive before July - what's happening with the EV 5K grant?

I've seen it's being reduced but not seen any details

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,322 ✭✭✭✭KCross

I've seen it's being reduced but not seen any details

You are the same as everyone else!

Only government know and they may not even know/decided at this point. All they've signalled is that it will be changed/reduced in July.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 696 ✭✭✭wush06

I’m hoping Tesla is fully aware of it and will try and have people cars before July or they might have a lot of cancellations

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 42,200 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gumbo

Nobody know yet. We are all guessing a tiered removal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 571 ✭✭✭Manzoor14

I don't think its even been decided upon yet, or at least it wasn't a few weeks ago, but 25-30% is the figure that was being discussed. Obviously it could change, but that was the number being talked about a month or so ago.

Well at least I see NotMatchedToRa00Vin in the source of my account which apparently means I've been soft matched to a VIN

    Fingers crossed
