    Hi all,

I have a hyundai accent and since I got it two years ago the check engine light is on, dose not affect the car far as I know, I have been told it's a sensor. It passed two ncts with it on.

I have it to the garage a few times and they turn it off by disconnecting the battery but it come back again after a couple weeks.

Any idea how to turn it off or fix the problem?

It would need to be diagnosed (which I'd have thought your mechanic would have done before resetting the light).

Once you know the cause for the fault, then you can look at addressing the problem

They just disconnected the battery said "must be a sensor" off I went. I got one of those diagnostic things you plug into the car but no matter how many times I tried it said failed to connect.

Something is triggering the light to come on and a fault code would be logged.

If your mechanic is unable to find out the code then get yourself a mechanic that can.
