Electrical advice

Hello,

I am living in an estate and have built a blocked garden room in my garden. We plan to use this space to relax and somewhere for the kids to spend some time in the evenings with friends and so on.

In there we would like to have lights and sockets to power fridges, freezers and in the future maybe a washing machine and dryer.

I have buried a 6sq SWA cable from the fuse board in the main house to the garden room (approx 25m). Is this cable sufficient for our needs? I have spoken to a few electricians and each seems to have a different opinion.

I have heard the power supply to the house would possibly need to be upgraded to the household to allow for the extra demands and that this can be a costly affair. Some advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

How are you heating the shed ?

Are you moving all these appliances out from the house or adding new washers and fridges ?

Can post up a picture of main board ?

You should be ok to have a few appliances in the shed on a 6mm swa , the run is short

If the fridges and freezers aren't rated for use in cold rooms then you'll need some type of electrical heating.

Then sure you'll definitely need something bigger than 6sq.

I remember reading that on the fridges and freezers , what's the story there with ambient temperature ?

And pics of the metering setup would help

I would have ran a 10 sq if considering all that equipment .Hard to say really on the loading there .

There are specific ranges of fridges and freezers for cold rooms such as this range from Beko:

Not one is better rated than F! There must be a heating coil on the condenser element or something!

On most of the better made fridge freezers that came from Uk or Italy or Germany in times past they fitted a low wattage element around the evaporator , on the three connections on the stat 1/3 ran the compressor and when it cut out it went 1/2 to bring in the heating coil, on the deep freezers they ran to approx minus 22 and cut in again on the rise of temp at -18 I don’t ever remember-18 so they had no problem cutting in
