Hmmmm...methinks Tool are far more innovative and are more substantial. Alot of APC sounds like poor imitations of Tool with a more commerical slant (eg Judith, Weak and Powerless) whilst other tunes veer from Billy Corgan-inspired goth puke (Magdelena) to nice, twee mush (3 Libras).

In summation, APC are too close imo to "moderate rawk" (said in Kurt Cobain-esque fashion) to be remotely the equals of Tool.
(That said, I ain't heard the new album yet...)

Funnily enough, had it been based just on APC's "Mer De Noms", I would have voted for them hands down. I love Judith, Magdelena, and 3 Libras. The new album totally put me off though.

    Heh, prick be me!
But what bugged the hell out of me was the fact that I found out a month later (when Blair issued newsletter on site) that they'd stayed in a hotel thats a 2 mins walk from my house! Arg! And some fan from dublin "apparently" spent the nite hanging out with em, and "apparently" instead of all the occult ****e he expected they played yahtzee all night.

I say "apparently" cuz noone knows when Blair's making it up or actually being serious!

I've seen both bands live, Tool playing at Ozzfest last year & A Perfect Circle in London 2 years ago. Tool are amazing there's no other band like them , their live set is fantastic & music is very creative and just pure brillance.
