This is exactly what should be allowed. Its not what happens though, as there's nothing respectful about how players approach refs in football. I've my issues with reffing in rugby, but its one thing they definitely get right. You say anything disrespectful to them, off you go.

If the refs association wanted to, they could easily enforce it. Go into the dressing rooms, tell all the players they'll get booked for swarming the ref/shouting abuse/aggressive behaviour etc...and actually follow through with it, even sending players off, and it'll stop.

But they don't, for reasons that i just don't understand.

That didn't take long. 3 minutes into the second half and Gakpo has his first Liverpool goal.

Gakpo starting to show signs of the player he might be for this Liverpool side. Very impressive tonight...

    That should have been 3-0.

Dycheball isn't pretty. It might save Everton this season, but he's not the future for them.

I'd reserve judgement until he's producing the goods against the top EPL and Euro teams. It was Everton ffs.

He was good last night but your correct, these things need to happen week in week out before you can make a call on players,

My biggest question where is he going to play long term , If its as a false 9 what happens to Nunez , especially when Diaz comes back fit ,Lots of questions & issues need resolving at Liverpool ,

Jeysus people getting a bit ahead of themselves because Liverpool beat a woeful Everton team.

Liverpool had to beat Everton last night. Really Everton are a poor side. Also, Dyche will make Everton better but the bookies I think still have them next in line for relegation after Southampton and Bournemouth. Also, they are away to City and Arsenal in their next 2 away games. Home to Leeds next is huge for them.

Liverpool need to beat Newcastle, then they are back in it.

I'm a big believer in momentum.

Newcastle don't have it at the moment. They have fallen into the wrong time to not have any with their cup final coming up. Arsenal seem to have lost their momentum since the FA cup loss to City. Poor results in the league since.

Liverpool looked good last night, albeit against a poor Everton team but a poor Everton team that are coming off of the back of beating the league leaders. Liverpool rediscovered their energy and sustained pressure for large spells. Something we haven't seen in a few months. Is it the spark to reignite their own form and gain momentum? We won't know until Saturday. If they do get the win at the weekend, top 4 opens up again, especially with the game in hand still.

Take your own advice then on making early calls on players 😀

Dyches biggest issue is his only striker that might get goals is the perma-crocked Calvert-Lewin.

He'll keep them tight at the back but he has to rely on Gray/Iwobi to nick a winner.

Massive day for Arsenal. I can see Trossard starting in place of Martinelli. Think Martinelli’s drop off has been more significant than any other Arsenal player has experienced. Pep simply has to start KDB. And I’d say Haaland will be fine to play, 3 up at half time the last day, no need to take chances.

The master has already beaten the student once this season.

Arsenal have lost their momentum. It will be a brilliant time to get it back. A win tonight and Arsenal may just have one hand on the trophy. A loss, and City will go on to win it as Arsenal will crumble IMO.

Pep can use the 'the world is against us' angle now too.

City have beat Arsenal in there last 10 meetings ,

Tonight is absolutely huge for Arsenal & there mentality going forward , its the **** or get off the pot moment ,

Arsenal, under Arteta, beat City in the Cup Semi in 2020.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,954 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

Sorry you are correct its the last 10 Prem games ,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,758 ✭✭✭Ottoman_1000

That is one awful PL record to have for a club like Arsenal, 10 losses on the bounce to the one side!! No better time to rectify it than tonight...I think City could go onto win the league comfortably if they win tonight!

Worst thing about this fixture is the broadcaster spending half the match looking at the 2 egotists on the sideline.

The hand gesturing is going to be off the charts. I’m half expecting one of them to break into another dimension tonight.
