If someone gets fired from an office or factory, its unheard of that they appear at that site again. Yeah, they might take legal action but not go near the place.

Anywhere I worked, if someone was unwelcome, security would escort them off the property. Would it cheaper for the DoE to employ private security at this school for the coming weeks than use Garda resources ? He's consuming so many valuable garda resources, interupting the school staff and pupils.

If he tried this carry on in a school in the states, the school security / assigned police officer would just shoot him for trespassing !

Today is very different to his previous "visits" to the school , legally speaking.

Previously he was an employee in dispute with his employers so it was an entirely civil matter - Unless he did something other than just "be there" of course.

Now though , since his sacking on Friday it becomes a criminal matter and there multiple things that he could potentially get charged with - Trespass , Intimidation , Public Nuisance and I'm sure there are a few others as well.

He's into a very different realm now in terms of the legal jeopardy he could find himself in.

WRC appeals go to the Labour Court. After that they can go the High Court but only on points of law.

Ami Burke and Enoch Burke have shown themselves to be trouble and litigious. I think an potential employer would be mad to even consider hiring someone from that family.

And an employer with deep pockets will potentially fight it to the end. Hard to see where an individual can fund themselves through it all.

I still havent a clue what part of Enochs religious beliefs are infringed to be honest. What religion preaches that you cant use a name that a person chooses to use.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Love to see how you arrive at that figure! In my first years teaching it was a 7 hour day Monday to Friday,, then after-school activities a couple of times a week..then marking a few hundred essays etc... Oh and and of course attending or teaching vocational courses in the holidays.... LOVED it though!

    1. Show up at school.
    2. Get arrested and carted off.
    3. Small while in courts or jail.
    4. Return to step 1. Do not pass go. Do not collect €200.

Those shows are already recorded. But the late late show would have to do.

You would assume today that the Gardai well and truly marked his card by explaining to him all of the Criminal risk he faces now that he is no longer an employee at the school.

If he turns up again tomorrow it's a whole new ball game.

It was inevitable! More fuel to his fire! He would have rejoiced! As he will the ongoing process now. enext w

Well if any adult starts hanging around a place full a children when they have no business being there, I'd consider that quite creepy if I'm honest.

Nice to know you'd see no problem with it, though.

I don't think you understand the nature of his objection.

It wasn't a given name (John, Mary) he had the problem with, it was being told to use pronouns which suggested that the person in question was not either male or female, as determined by God at their conception.

Presumably he'd also have a problem with someone asking to be called he/she, when it would be the opposite of their biological gender at birth.

“So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them” (Genesis 1:27)

So, that's the nature of the conflict with his religious beliefs.

Now, while thats all good and well and we could argue the ideology all day, that is NOT what he has been dismissed for.

He was dismissed for his personal conduct surrounding the dispute. End of.

This Enoch fella is at least a man of principle. And given that he is a man of firm religious beliefs he does have A44 of the Irish constitution on his side.

But I think he is going the complete wrong way about it. Maybe this approach is designed to bring media attention to his cause? I suppose it is because a judge already copped on to it and released Enoch. For 'exploiting his imprisonment'.

I believe the 'pronoun' issue will be laughed at in years to come as an American type fad which infiltrated the Western World via the interwebs IMHO . I do find the whole thing more than a bit silly. As you are led down nonsensical rabbit holes of what a woman is 'defined' as and so on. Mad stuff altogether it is a rewriting of logic not just speech.

But is Enoch going about things the way? I am not sure. If his goal is create a racket he is doing that. If his goal is to probably debate the issue, I don't think he is doing that. Staying in the school after he is fired/injunctions time and again will end up making him move from a man of principle, to an oddball.

To be honest the first time I heard the fella Enoch Burke mentioned. I thought Jayus, no fella called Enoch has never caused trouble. As I immediately thought of Enoch Powell.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

I hope you're right. I can't help but wonder if part of his plan is that if he is incarcerated before the end of the 10 day period he has to appeal his dismissal that that will extend the time. Letting him hang on to the delusion that he still works there without having to acknowledge that they fired him.

Forgive me for not reading back through this thread, or really knowing much about this situation. But was he not fired by the school? What makes him think that he's turning up to his place of work?

is this after his release from the garda station or the same incident from this morning?

    'A man of principle'.

F*ck that, he's a creepy, hateful, little dweeb who is so far removed from reality.

I would love to see the same people calling a radical Muslim preaching his teachings on students a 'man of principle' for 'exercising his religious beliefs'.

But no, because transgenderism is mentioned people will throw all of their own principles out the window to die on a hill for this bigot.

    After being released.

He claims he was unlawfully arrested. Nutter.

Its a really weird hill for him to die on. I mean they are obviously a nest of mad bastards but he has now effectively rendered himself completely unemployable, likewise his sister and presumably the other brother is as big a pillock as they are. There is no victory here to be had, even at this point any "moral" victory is gone as he has continued to return to the school.
