United weren’t and aren’t ready to challange for a title. Arsenal look the real deal and will need to keep this up as city are getting going and could win every game to end of season , Particularly now that they’ve played United twice and we can’t take points off them 😏

I think you put out your A team. Reminds me of United v arsenal in our treble winning season in 1999.

Remember the replay (that shouldn’t of been a replay cause United scored a legit goal in first game ruled out!!!) , Ferguson did rotate his team at times (relentless schedule) but he knew beating arsenal in that cup was important.

An arsenal win against city in FA cup is a massive statement.

Also, that winner felt like the Salah moment, ironically against Utd in 19/20.

Wonder when we will see the heat signature graph of which areas of the pitch Arteta spent the most time.

Probably was more involved on the pitch than Antony, thought he was very poor again.

I'm surprised that ten Haag stuck with Weghorst up front, even while retreating deep in the latter part of that second half. Especially after removing a winger in place of a defensive midfielder in Fred. It removed attacking impitous.

Would the move not be to play Rashford centrally up top to maximise his pace into space behind the Arsenal defence who were pushing up high? Garnacho was another option if he wanted pace. He has played in some other big games for 20 mins + so it's not like the manager doesn't trust him either.

His sporadic Goals have masked a very poor overall contribution.

Some people have mentioned he works hard, we didn’t spend 100 million for Dirk Kuyt. And that’s insulting Kuyt who was always Liverpools hardest working player at that time. I was at a pool v United game back in those days and Kuyt was pools best player who has a very talented squad. You never saw the work Kuyt did on tv.

He needs to mature a lot. I’m honestly not sure what quality he’s got that Ten haag wants cause we have seen very limited stuff so far.

Nani used to drive me mad, I never rated him as much as some United fans appear to. But he could change a game and pop up with some moments of brilliance. I don’t see what Anthony has that’s gonna all of a sudden click.

Maybe he will improve as ETHs system gets more of the players he wants, I’d give him more time , but he’s really frustrating to watch. United have no option on that wing really so are kind of stuck with him.

Nice to see you come around to the idea of City's wealth not just being an excuse.

No Casemiro, no hope. Depressing to see the likes of AWB, Shaw, Fred, McTominay, and that embarrassment of a signing Weghorst, turning out for United. Arsenal deserved the win. Still think City make a late charge and overtake them.

Great game and that game makes me believe this Arsenal side are the real deal.

Odegaard is easily the best player in the PL this season, hes like prime Modric and KDB all in one just superb.

Hes not alone, they rarely give the ball away and a joy to watch.

As a Liverpool fan i hope they go on and win it now.

Even as a Spurs fan it is hard not to like this Arsenal team. Fully deserved victory today and if I remember back to the reverse tie they were unlucky to lose

Nunez at Liverpool gets stick nnut he is worlds better than that 100million pound Fidget spinner Antony

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,954 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

Weghorst tired badly for the last 30 minutes he was slow at closing or cutting off passing lanes for Arsebtwo CBs , Itz why they could just constantly rebuild attack after attack down the wings ,the lads from CB to either Full back was always on

He is some player. Surprised he never got used more at Madrid, or kept. He would be ideal to slot into their midfield, now that Modric and Kroos are nearly the end.

Utd settled for 2-2, so glad to see the more positive team get the win in the end.

I don’t think they settled I think the press was just relentless

    The internet isn’t for everyone

Well in fairness, utd were away to the leaders,a lot of teams would "settle" for a draw in that situation

Agreed. Happens in every league every weekend. I just said I'm glad Arsenal won it, as I like to see a positive attitude rewarded.

Nothing will ever make me understand the decision to sell Zinchenko and Jesus to Arsenal. It's almost like Pep got bored and wanted a challenge.

Arsenal's two games against City will decided the title , Should be very interesting ,

A warm up for them this weekend in the FA cup ,

Just before the last 3 games Arsenal have City away ,Chelsea at home & then Newcastle away in a row,

Even Sterling to Chelsea is a bit baffling despite it not working out quite as well so far anyways. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining whatsoever but letting Zinchenko go in particular (in terms of position, Haaland was signed so you can somewhat see the sense in letting Jesus go) seems like a very bad mistake with the benefit of hindsight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,954 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

Zinchenko won basically everything at City but was never one of the "main men" he wanted to play more first time football or leave so Pep let him leave as he had Cancelo instead ,As good as he is Cancelo is better ,

Pep didn't want to hold on to him against his will so let him leave, Basically Zinchenko out grow his roll but wasn't good enough to replace Cancelo

Sometimes good players leave clubs & its right for everyone ,

Sterling makes ample sense when you're converting your attack to basically provide for a robot number 9. Sterling is not at his best as a more conventional winger. people think Salah is not having a great season? it's all about position on the pitch. Sterling would be neutered beyond comprehension.

Zinchenko, from a squad point of view, made no sense at the time, and still doesn't. the only explanation we've heard is that he wanted to leave. fair dues to City for respecting their players so much if that's true, and letting him go to Arsenal.

    LAMPARD GONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,884 ✭✭✭Pogue eile

Zinchenko is twice the player Cancelo is, unless you are talking from a Fantasy Football perspective!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,954 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

Pep obviously felt Cancelo is the better player in Citys system than Zinchenko , i'd agree with him ,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,919 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

also, how Lampard wasn't hounded out of that job is mental.

    Nail on the head.

With regards jesus, he had one year left on his deal just like sterling. It made financial sense esp with haaland and alvarez coming in. It was all very straight forward and at the time everyone thought it made sense(still does)
