FYI my order agreement has been updated on my account to reflect new prices.

Could be there to save the tyres ?

    Plenty of lift in it.

Grin every time I leave other cars sitting at the lights

I would imagine it's electronically there to protect the motor and drive train. It is still very fast however..

I ordered a car with park assist. I have had no park assist at all since I got it in December. I do lots of city street parking and it is extremely annoying. I quite like Tesla but I don't get how anyone can reasonably defend this.

They disabled it in the firmware?

I dont know who is defending it as I have park assist so it doesn’t affect me. But the public info was there that park assist would not be available on the cars for a few months while Tesla collected and worked the data from the existing fleet to make the assist chimes work with vision only.

It’s a basic requirement alright, I completely eyelet agree with that.

Same here. Trade hasn’t updated yet. This could get interesting 😂😂

    Estimated Delivery: February 21 - March 09

Same here. Also a more specific delivery window for the Model Y I ordered in October:

    Estimated Delivery: February 17 - March 05

Still the same vague window for the Model Y I ordered yesterday:

Estimated delivery: Feb - Mar 2023

No. The Tesla was delivered without parking sensors (USS/ultrasonic sensors). So although it was in the car spec when I ordered in March 2022, I have no park assist (delivery December) and until now no "vision" based replacement (and no timeline for when this might arrive).

I have no problem with everything else about my car but cannot understand how people are all over the internet are defending Tesla/Musk.

Word on the street is match for the assist chime update.

Mine still showing Feb 21 - Mar 09 despite changing to 20’ wheels (which I’m still unsure about!)

Most comment's I've seen have been critical. I'll swap my Sr+ with you if you want? It's faster, better battery performance in cold weather and has the sensors 😁

Unfortunately there is no guarantee. The reality is any Model Y for delivery in Ireland in Q1 are more than likely already on a boat from China to Zebrugge - in previous years I think Irish stock used to go via the UK with their stock, which gave more options given the volume of cars going to uk

UK stuff now goes direct from China to Southampton, so we don’t get the benefit of those additional cars.

yours is a straightforward order (ie no tow bars or a rwd with alloys which didn’t make grant previously), so fingers crossed it makes Q1 delivery for you

Another thing the Tesla guys said today which made sense, although I know many here take what they say with a grain of salt, was that because almost all Irish MY orders before Friday were RWD, he expects that not many LRs will be in the shipment to Ireland. There may not be enough of them to match with all the recent LR orders. Although nobody knows for sure, its not an unreasonable hypothesis.

I thought you were joking when you said yesterday that the deal was so good you ordered a second. Clearly not!

Do you or @Gumbo have a view as to whether Tesla could further reduce the cost of the Model Y in future (e.g. when/if grant disappears, Tesla drops the price to keep the 3/Y affordable)?

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 41,655 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gumbo

Good question. I don’t think they will be reduced much further if at all, unless some worldwide catastrophe occurs. Banking/war/financial or other.

The reason being, the other car makers can’t drop theirs. So while Tesla do want market share, they need to keep profits too.

I would be very surprised if they did but by god, nobody expected yesterday so who knows!

I was a bit surprised today at the state of Tesla's parking area. Unsealed, puddles, muddy and a stock X parked up with a nearly flat front right.

Did you ever park around the back? I did a year or two ago, was lucky to get out again😁.

Was up in Belfast a week or so ago. More space there, but Sandyford is not really fit for purpose any more.

Wasn't taking any chances that if I changed my existing order, I'd be back at the end of the queue. So just ordered another one 😂

Also, I knew I forgot something in my review. The one pedal driving. It really is excellent. And the one major benefit any Model 3 / Model Y has over a Model S / Model X

Out the side, wasn't brave enough to go all the way around the back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 658 ✭✭✭Killer K

Yeah, that is a good point on other car makers. Tesla have a superior product at a better price which has generated plenty of demand. When the Chinese brands establish themselves and gain momentum in the European market, it would make sense that Tesla respond with a further price reduction if it is in a position to do so.

The question becomes, can Tesla become even more efficient at producing EVs and would there be enough margin to allow for a future price drop like the one yesterday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 658 ✭✭✭Killer K

Totally agree about the one pedal driving. On your review, I would agree it has the premium economy feel! I really like the interior of the Ioniq 5 and it a much nice place to be compared to inside an EV6 however, I think the Tesla interior is superior to both.

Price has updated on my portal page, but not with new colour and sans towbar

Order document still at November order

I’m in the same boat on this, changed my Oct order to induction wheels and everything else the same. Still saying Feb 21 - Mar 9.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 807 ✭✭✭podge1979

Their gas lads there alright never give a yes or no. When I was trying to buy one a year and a half ago I constantly got the "I am confident line".

Was confident I'd get the car in September then confident again in December the car finally arrived in March!

They say that, because they just don't know the important question to ask is because of the change of order is it treated like a new order and you are moved on the list waiting for a car.

Just trying to get my head into the Tesla Ecosystem and have a couple of Q's for those who have gone before us.

    1) Servicing - I know there are service centres and Call out 'Rangers' but do you get to decide which way you want to proceed for a given piece of work or do Tesla Decide? Does it cost extra for the same issue or service depending on how it is dealt with? For any warranty issues who decides and can one approach take longer than the other?

2)Premium Connectivity - How much does it cost and is it worth it in your experience?

    Tks all

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,568 Mod ✭✭✭✭slave1

The Ranger is for jobs that don’t require the equipment at the Service Centre, anything from a visual inspection of paint to a steering column replacement/frunk latch replacement/door handle fix and a tow hitch addition to the Y.

Premium Connectivity is currently €9.99/month, I’m in between on whether worth it or not but mainly because I prefer higher quality audio from USB

My stuff on Adverts, mostly Tesla Pre Highland Model 3

Hope you’re right in relation to a straightforward order but I think the LR in Black/Black was probably very popular with new orders and updated orders in recent days that had to be under the grant. There can only be so many of them on the boat if it’s already loaded ?

Agree, there has to be some intelligence to the boat loading. We need x LRs and y SRs in black, white and a few blues. LRs until Friday would have been in the minority
